Better than expected for my use case
The media could not be loaded. I had a Cecilio electric violin that I used for silent practice, but my toddler accidentally dropped it and snapped the scroll, twice. So I wanted something affordable and robust. I took a chance on this Aliyes electric violin and it is better than I expected. It's lighter than the wooden electric I had; easier to tune. And the added bonus is that the electronics in it are better than what I was previously using. That said, it is still susceptible to electromagnetic interference. I would deduct a star for that, but I'm limiting my review to it's use as a silent practice instrument. So that part would be irrelevant. Plus, the interference goes away when it's not connected to anything with grounding issues. But I occasionally experiment with plugging it into an impulse response pedal and amplifier to get a more acoustic sound, and this worked wonderfully so long as you have a noise gate in the signal chain. I have included a quick video showing how useful this violin is, and how I process its sound.I'm not sure what part of this instrument is carbon fiber and which part is ABS plastic, but I'm not too caught up on that. If my kid ends up dropping this one, I'm sure it will not break so easily.I've been playing since 2016. So, by no means am I a professional. I've never had a chance to play a high end electric violin, like the Yamahas. So I cannot make a comparison with that.Overall, if your use case is similar to mine, then just go ahead and get it.

Pickup doesn't produce sound at all.
This instrument does not produce any sound in headphones or the line out. The battery instructions are outdated -- there is no "cable" to "clamp" as instructed in the battery compartment, and the battery itself gets hot almost instantly. No sound is produced other than staticky electrical sounds, that bear no resemblance to the sounds made by the instrument. It simply does not work, I'm quite angry that I wasted time and energy trying it out.My expectations were very low-- i know this is an inexpensive practice instrument. But you had exactly one job: produce audio output. You failed that and instead gave me a useless fire hazard. I'll be seeking a refund.
