Stains like crazy, but the dye is amazing
I hate the bleach, it smells just awful. But the dye has a flowery smell, and was pleasant. I recommend if you have stubborn hair that doesn't take dyes very well.

Great color!
Deep Emerald gives a bold, vibrant pop without the commitment. Easy to apply, soft on hair, and lasts beautifully...exactly what I wanted!

Beautiful with Other Colors
So, I've had the Splat Deep Emerald, Blue Envy, Crimson, and the dark purple one for 5 months now and theyโre still going strong. How did I get it to stay well? 1. I put the color on in the morning, put a plastic bag over my hair, blow dried over the plastic for 20 minutes, and left it in until night time - 10 hours. The result was that it all of the colors were very deep. The crimson looked almost black. I liked it because for someone like me who needed to slowly get the administrators to accept it, it was perfect. It lightened up over the months until now itโs very bright. 2. Wash your hair in the sink, or rubber band it on top of your head when you take a shower, or use a shower cap. Then 5 minutes before you get out of the shower, wash your hair and only rub the shampoo into your scalp (not on the ends!) one time. Remember that the longer you let your hair be wet, the more color that will drain out the ends. Oh, and make sure to use plastic gloves on your hands for all that color coming out about 3 months at least while youโre washing or drying your hair (and keep a towel that you just use on your hair). 3. Wash your hair once a week (once in a while twice a week is okay). 4. After you wash it, put in some good conditioner and then you can blow dry it if you need to like me. 5. The sun will fade your hair, as well as if you put night cream on your face - it faded the hair that hit my face after 4 months. Of course this just made it look prettier to people. 6.Back to the Application: If you have used Feria (the best colorant on the market for permanency (if you donโt use their conditioner after the initial application) for more subtle blues, purples, etcโฆ.), know that it and some other brands penetrate the hair shaft so completely that the bleach that comes with the Splat will not work well after a few minutes. It took me 7 hours to get my hair to bleach yellow blond, not even white. Luckily, I only decided to bleach and use the Splat color highlights in my hair - of course that bleach damaged it so much (direct dyes like splat actually condition your hair). I left the blond highlights for 2 weeks. Then I colored them with Splat colors. Iโve definitely lost about 3 inches of that hair from breakage over these 5 months. IMHO the Deep Emerald looks best when combined a bit with turquoise of blue dye if you didn't bleach your hair all the way to white. The people that complain about it looking swampy didn't bleach their hair to the white blond. If you bleach it to yellow blond, it will get more of those yellow tones as it fades. That's why I suggest a bit of blue to counteract the yellow if you didn't bleach your hair to white to begin with. More Info.: People always ask why Splat and other companies that sell bright colors for hair make the dye so messy. The reason why is that direct dyes donโt penetrate the hair shaft. The dye sits on top of the blond/white airshaft and when light hit the hair, the light travels through the shaft and lights up the hair so that you can get brightly colored hair. โNatural colors like brown penetrate the hair shaft so that the light doesnโt enter the hair shaft. Thatโs why they donโt make a mess after application - the color is inside the hair shaft. But the result is that theyโre not bright. Here's a photo of the Deep Emerald with other Splat colors after 5 months.

Not green at all, but turquoise!
I applied the color to freshly bleached hair and left it on for an hour. It came out a mermaid turquoise color. Since the package had arrived opened and the green hair color had spilled inside the box, I thought maybe I should try buying it again and trying again. Again I applied the color for an hour and again my hair came out an uneven sea color, nothing at all like the color on the box. I definitely know it wasn't user error. I've been coloring my own hair for my whole life as my mom is a hairdresser and taught me how to do so properly. I am asked by friends to color their hair all the time. I've been using Splat Blue forever and it always turns out phenomenal. So, I went back to dark blue. Splat dark blue color is true to the box, for the most part, and lasts pretty long if you use a sulphate free shampoo and conditioner. Sure enough, I immediately loved my color again. I wasted my time and money trying this green. I expected a true green, a forest green with maybe a little bit of a tint toward the blue end of the spectrum. Nope. It was bright, light turquoise and did not grab on at my roots at all, plus the green stained my skin and bathroom horribly. The blue has never done so. Strange, since they're both from the same company.

Absolutely the best dying product out there!
One of my Absolute favorite dying colors as an avid Rebellious splat color dye user. It comes with a head cover for light streaks, bleach and mix to lighten hair and finally a bottle of the brilliant color inside! Gloves also found with the instructions and a squeeze top if you feel so inclined. The color stayed bright for Months for me and even after a year the color is still faintly there without replenishing. One of the absolute Best dying products out there!

Didn't work for me.
The green color didn't .take to good in my hair. Maybe it was just the chemistry of my self, but the color just didn't take. The Red and Purple was Great though.

Classic Splat Quality :)
Love this! Basic Splat kit, usually best to have a buddy with you to help dye as things can be messy quickly and they can see things you miss in the back. Remember - cover your counter tops and the floor around you before dying! This stuff means business when it comes to dying any surface. Also, use Vaseline to protect your skin from turning green - it'll be that way for a while you do get stained. Though if you do happened to get stained, use some dish soap and baking soda and at least most of it should come off :) Also - if you have long/thick hair like mine, seriously consider getting 2 kits. This kit worked fine but definitely would have lasted longer/been darker if I had more dye.

Thin and runny dye
I have used splat countless times, though this was my first time buying it online instead of in store. I dont know if it got too hot in shipping or if I just got a defective bottle but it was very thin and runny instead of the thick dye I am used to and that made it difficult to tell if it was on all my hair (I did it alone) and really hard to not make a mess or control. I've never used this green before so its possible its just that color but I also didnt feel like the dye was as solid after I washed it out. It seems a little patchy in some areas, though its possible because it was so thin and runny that i I just couldn't tell I missed those spots. My hair was bleached pretty light prior, and I've had great success with every other splat color I've tried but this one just didn't hit the spot as I had hoped.

Gorgeous deep colour!
I had some teal and purple in my hair before. Teal washed out, so I wanted to freshen up the look. It turned out great!

The Joker would be proud.
Everything is there to colour your hair. Bleach is easy to apply and then add some colour. Deep emerald in my case, just like the Joker. I'm very happy with the results.

Vibrant color
Love this shade, it dyes a nice deep dark green and fades to a nice turquoise/green tone, long lasting effects!

Didn't work for me
Didn't make a difference to my hair (which was already bleached and green, but faded) it didn't take at all. I like that you get the bleach with this kit, but I didn't need to use it. Might work on just bleached hair but didn't work for me at all

Don't buy this trash, it'll turn your hair blue
Followed the step-by-step instructions but instead of getting an emerald green, I got a bright blue that looks like garbage, and of course, because it's a bright colour it only lasts 2-3 washes before it looks even worse. Save yourself the pain and money and get a different dye.
