Q: Does the metal on the earrings tarnish quickly or can they stand up to daily wear, especially interested in the yellow gold durability?

I don't know about the yellow gold because I didn't purchase that one. I purchased the sterling silver and I had no problems with it tarnishing.

Q: Anyone tried sleeping in them?

I never sleep with earrings but these are very comfortable and if you are used to sleeping with earrings I think they would be fine.
