Tarot For Dummies

This has a lot of information and then if you are new to reading tarot cards. I suggest you get it. It has a lot about the history and it gives you a lot of information about each individual card and you can never have too much information. After you've read this book you can take from it what you like and use it to your own availability. This book is just chock-full of information.

I am a beginner to the Tarot. I felt a little overwhelmed by other Tarot books that to me were very wordy and complex. I love the "For Dummies" series because it breaks it down and simplifies everything from how to pick your first Tarot deck to the definition of each card. I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it to someone just getting started in studying the Tarot.

I believe the author is very knowledgeable about the Tarot. However, I think she needs to brush up on traffic signs. I was a little concerned when in the first paragraph of the Introduction she says a "six-sided red sign to stop". Stop signs are octagons (eight-sided).

I read this book before and bought it to keep and read again. She makes us think about many different aspects of our lives. Not just for the Tarot student or practitioner, this book is a great self-help and philosophy and could be applied to many different situations! My thanks!

I learned a lot being new to tarot. However I did find one error. The way she calculates the “Soul and Personality cards.” After doing the math, I found what I thought was my soul and personality card. I was on a tarot website and I saw that they calculated the 2 step process in the opposite order as Jayanti, so that what I thought was soul was personality etc. I thought that this big an error wouldn’t get through the editing process, so I checked three more sources. All four say to add up your birth numbers FIRST for the 2 digit number…this is your PERSONALITY card. Then separate your 2 numbers and add together. This sum is your SOUL card. I’m glad I found out or I would have told thereader (like I knew something) what my personality card was and have them point out that I have calculated it backwards! 😑

This is THE book if you want to really delve into the meaning of the Tarot cards. The symbolism of each card is thoroughly explained, and thought provoking questions are put forth for each one. These questions allow you to delve into your inner workings when you draw a particular card in a reading.This is an excellent investment for any practitioner of the tarot or any average Joe just looking to expand his/her knowledge.

Not bad but I had to get another book. I have OCD so I got lost in this book maybe it will work for you.

I've taken a few tarot classes and was curious what this book had to offer. I really enjoyed it. It was fun getting a different perspective and I actually learned some new tips.
