MerrellWomen’s Moab Mid Gore-Tex High Rise Hiking Boots

I used to love Merrell boots because I have broad but small feet and I've got plantar fasciitis. They used to give great support and I walked my previous pair out. These ones are poorer quality. The sole is much thinner (I should have sent them back but just kept them out of laziness) and you can feel sharp stones through them. They are also NOT WATERPROOF AT ALL. I bought them for hillwalking and they are fine for that if the conditions are drying but having just completed a dog walk in the pouring rain, I can confirm they are not remotely waterproof. I was walking on concrete, not through muddy ground and my socks are wringing wet. They can't be made in the same place any more.

after returning three pairs of boots purchased from Amazon (2 Merrell and 1 Karrimor) i finally decided to stick to these. but sadly, at UK size 6, these are larger than size 6 boots in all other brands, including Merrell's!! my other pair of Merrell hiking boots is UK size 6.5 and these size 6 ones are bigger than those too!!! even if i concede that the two pairs were bought two years apart, this much discrepancy in the same kind of boots by the same company is frustrating when you are shopping online. and i did try out other size 6 Merrell shoes at Blacks before placing an order for these :( :( all to no avail.the sizing issue is the main reason i've given it 3 stars. the other problem is style - given that my older pair is much cheaper than this one (and i don't think usual increase in prices can be used to excuse this), i expected these to look at least as good as those. these new ones actually look much worse. these boots are, sort of, shapeless compared to my older pair and i think that shapelessness and decline in quality is half the reason the boots deviate so much from the sizing chart.thing is that sizing charts are the same for all brands, all models. if they differ in sizing then the sizing chart for each model/brand should reflect the actual sizes and measurements. but i don't know whether that is Amazon's job or the company's job.

I hate trying to find shoes and boots, with broad feet, a high instep and a bunion it's a nightmare. These felt wonderful from the moment I tried them. The nylon arch shank supports the instep nicely. Only worn them out once so far but very promising and they look good. One gripe, the laces are too short and I could barely fasten them so had to invest in a longer pair. Having read many reviews recently this appears to be a very annoying trend.

After having had Merrell boots before, I was looking to replace my old pair. Before buying these boots, I tried two other styles of Merrell boots, neither of which were comfortable. The sizes of all the styles has got smaller, a size 5 is now a 5, whereas previously I had to go for a 5.5. This style is a closer match to previous boots I have had, great fit, very comfortable, light weight and not as narrow as some of the newer styles I tried. I would definitely recommend.

Wore these for the first time today, on a very wet and muddy walk.Kept my feet warm and dry though I wasn't splashing deliberately through puddles.I did find them a bit heavy,but that could be I'm not used to walking boots. It's a lot of money for boots,only time will tell if they remain waterproof.

Very nice boot, I especially liked the larger gusset because I have a high in-step but I needed something urgently for a walking holiday - the size I ordered turned out to be too big & they didn't have a smaller size in stock. Thankfully I was able to send them back.

Really happy with these boots. I have walked for miles over the weeks since I got them and not a blister in sight. Really comfy.

Comfortable from day one. So far they are waterproof and I walk in the early morning through long, dew laden, grass. Always find that Merrell are a good fit for me.
