Resilience, Strength, & Love Are Around Every Corner
From the very beginning of the book it is clear that Dianna poured her heart & soul into this. We've heard a lot of Demi's story over the years, but little was given about her background & the family she came from. In reading this book, it becomes clear that the determination, resilience, & strength that Demi has shown is a direct result of having Dianna as her mother. Dianna's willingness to open herself up to judgement in telling her story is admirable and the situations she describes are ones that many families can find themselves in, even if they haven't gone the route to stardom. It is written in a way that you feel as if you're experiencing the story as it unfolds & is hard to put down once you've started. This is a book that not only fans of Demi & her family will enjoy, but others who are looking to understand the way that addiction/mental illness can affect the entire family & how a mother's strength & love can far surpass the challenges life brings.

Quick Introspective Read
I decided to read Falling with Wings after recently becoming a fan of Demi's. I'm slightly older than Demi so I didn't pay much attention to her duringher Disney years or the ensuing years that followed. I did find her extremely affable on X-factor though and I recalled her doing a fabulous job on a Grey's Anatomy epuside many years ago. I knew OF her but didn't quite grasp the depth of her vocal talents until (her album) TMYLM was released. Demi's not just a popstar, she's a real singer. The TMYLM album is an underrated gem. It's the most mature complete body of work I've seen a young artist release in a long time. Now I'm proud to say I'm team Demi and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her professionally.I heard Demi say once that her mom is her hero because of her strength. After reading this book I completely understand why Demi said that. Mrs. De La Garza's strength, honesty and bravery is inspiring. It takes a lot of guts to admit your missteps publicly. Now I know that Demi inherited those very same qualities from her mom.A number of things stood out about the book for me. One is Mrs. De La Garza's resilience and drive, another is the spiritual undercurrent that flows throughout her story. One of the biggest takeaways for me is how things get passed from one generation to another without the older generation even realizing it's happening. As I was reading Mrs. De La Garza's story I reflected on my mom's upbringing and how those experiences affected her. She didn't deal with the trauma she experienced in some instances and thus passed that trauma onto me. The same thing happened here with Ms. De La Garza's upbringing and what she passed down to Demi and Dallas. I marveled at her resolve to eventually admit her struggles and seek help thus breaking (hopefully) the cycle with Madison. This family has suffered some unimaginable lows but Mrs. De la Garza's faith in the lord has always pulled them through. It seems that in the worst of times (or hopeful) God was always there to answer Mrs. De la Garza's pleas for divine intervention. This fact isn't lost on me in light of Demi's recent troubles. Clearly, Demi and the entire family has been touched by God. Reading Mrs. De la Garza's story helped reaffirm my own spiritual beliefs after some years of questioning my own religious path.I found Mrs. De La Garza's story extremely relatable. There are elements in her story that most everyone can see in their own lives and to me that's what makes it such a universal story. It's not just a book written by Demi Lovato's mother. It's the story of a woman (wife, mother) who's simply trying to live life the best way she knows how. The mistakes and setbacks make her human. Her willingness to deal with those troubles head on AND subsequently share her journey with the world make her a bravery inspirational. People can be judgmental especially when it comes to things they don't understand.I came away rooting for the entire family. Much respect to Mr. De la Garza for being a stand up guy. Any man can fall in love with a single mother, marry her and be a provider but it takes a special man to take on the role of dad for two fatherless daughters.

Heartfelt memoir about raising girls and mental health issues
If you are a mother that would do anything for your own children including putting your own needs aside, then you should read this book. If you know someone who struggles with mental health issues - anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self loathing,..., then you should read this book. This is not just a book about a mom trying to raise famous daughters, it is a book about a mom trying to do her very best for her family while failing sometimes, and how you can manage it. It is a heartfelt story about raising girls, facing trials, and coming out on top as a family!

I encourage everyone to read this book and enjoy.
This book is a real story written by a very strong woman. The fact she was willing to write things about herself that weren’t always positive, tells you we can all relate to her struggles. Anyone can relate to her story and the families journey. I encourage everyone to read this book and enjoy.

This was such a great book
I pre-ordered this book without any expectations. I finished the book after a couple of days of reading and it is amazing to perceive the journey of this beautiful family. I felt frustration, sadness and at times was so into each chapter's obstacles that I wanted to reach in a hug each and every one of these women. It is true that sometimes we search for happiness and forget to find it amongst each other. I am happy, however, that this family's love was not shattered by the many challenges they faced. Such an inspiration and so many mental health issues I can also relate to. Thank you Dianna for sharing your story, I hope this book's message makes it to millions in need of it.

Great Read & Inspiring
Very well in depth and resonating story. In various ways you almost feel like you can relate in certain situations she had been through. Very strong women and so many touching moments and very personable that you almost don’t want to put the book down. You can imagine the settings and even the scenario in your head as you are reading and I have never found a book that makes me feel that way. It’s inspiring to read someone elses story and know how strong our mind really is and important to know that we can truly overcome anything with the love and support you have around you.

The Lovato and De La Garza family from the beginning 😘
This book is literally my new favorite book ever. After reading just the prologue , it brought tears to my eyes. I love the Lovato and De La Garza family so much that it broke my heart reading about their trials and tribulations. Dianna is so raw and vulnerable in detailing an intricate and beautiful novel about their family. I strongly recommend this book even if you don't know the family, because it still sends an empowering message.

I enjoyed reading the raw, honest, truth of this wonderful family’s journey. It takes real strength to admit you need help and follow through it even though that can be a challenge. Thank Dianna for sharing this story with us. I pray and hope that your family continues to stay strong and know how worthy each of you are on this earth. Perfeito e honesto!
Uma linda biografia, uma história de luta, força, maternidade, sonhos, realidade, saúde e o alto preço que é necessário pagar para obter tudo isso.
