Best mod to my jeep yet
Was getting tired of the transfer case drop kit keeping my clearance low, and my slip yoke broke at the yoke when on the trail and decided to pull the trigger on an SYE kit. This kit is complete and very easy to install, my old transfer case excluded. I decided to rebuild my t-case while installing this kit. I pounded the needle bearings out of my planetary sprocket with a pipe of the same dimension because I have the old np231 in my YJ. I also suggest getting a special order Tom wood's driveshaft to compliment this kit.Update: The rear output seal started leaking after my first offroad trip, the seal that comes with this kit isn't worth a crap. Since I had a few leftover pinion seals for my old dana 35, I decided to try one since they measured the same size. That pinion seal has since lasted about 3 more offroad trips and works very well.

Great Product and Great Price
This was a great buy from my 2001 Jeep Cherokee. I took a while to get my transfer case out but the installation of this SYE kit was really easy. I spent a bunch of time watching videos online and reading about how it was done so that helped but the kit came with everything I needed (besides the new driveshaft). I would def recommend this to anyone who has added a few inches to the height of their Cherokee.

No issues
Great kit. Well made. Had no casting issues like other complained about. Went on a 91 YJ. I guess there is different levels of ruggedness for these kits and parts internally but mine is a basic street driven maybe some light trails every now and then and it does the job. Installed myself and it’s very smooth.

Watch install videos on line, read posts in forums. The instructions provided are not very good. Install is really easy and not difficult for someone with basic skills.

Good, 2 problems though
This is good for the money, and works great but 2 problems, 1 as stated by another user the instructions stink. Be ready to watch youtube videos.2nd, if you are putting this in a YJ 1987-1995 wrangler, there is a 90% chance you will need to press the bearings out of your drive sprocket. A press is not normally a tool you have laying around so be prepared to visit harbor frieght or a buddies garage

I did this upgrade to a manual 1995 Jeep Cherokee works just as expected.
This product was one of the most responsible priced kits works great if you watch a few videos before to know what your getting into. Fitment and instructions were good.

It'll do
Long story short...It works if you have a bit of extra time to install it. If I had it to do over again, and could spend the extr$100 for another brand, I probably would do so. The person I was helping install this was on a budget, so the price was right. So, the things we ran into that made it take a bit longer to install: - The shift fork rod was too long to be able to install the new, shorter tail housing and so we had to cut down the rod by ROUGHLY 3/4 inch, otherwise it would not have shifted all the way into 4 low. I don't count this as a bad thing, really, because it was clearly stated in the instructions as to exactly how long the shift rod should be and how long it might be if it was too long. You already have the rod out to install this kit, so just measure and cut it on the bench. The cut was a little difficult to make, as it seems this shift rod is made of a hardened steel. It turned out fine, and there does appear to be room for error in the length of the shaft in both directions, but be as precise as you can. The instructions stated that this long fork issue was most likely to be encountered on the first few model years of Wranglers and Cherokees, 1987-1989 I think it was. Our project was a 1987 Wrangler- The new, shorter tail housing appears to be drilled wrong for the mounting to the transfer case rear half. TEST FIT IT ALL THE WAY BEFORE PUTTING ANY RTV OR SEALER ON THE FLANGES, AND MAKE SURE ALL THE BOLTS GO IN BY HAND. I put it in place and 3 of the bolts went in, the other 2 would not line up, though they were not far off. The remedy for this was drilling out all 5 mounting holes with a drill bit about 2 sizes large than the holes were to begin with. It then bolted up just fine.- The nut that holds the new output yoke to the new shorter output shaft was of a poor quality. The threads in it were not cut cleanly, and as a result, the nut kept threading onto the output shaft crooked. Since it is a very large nut with a shoulder, it would have been difficult to find a replacement one locally, and I did not have a tap NEARLY large enough to re-thread it, so I ended up having to take a dremel tool and grind off the first 2 threads inside the nut to get it to thread on. It still went on with a lot of torque required to turn it. This process alone probably added 2 hours to the installation. Just be ever so careful in threading this nut on if you decide to take on this project, it will cause you a headache if it has it's way!-The kit did not come with the bolts to bolt the new double cardan driveshaft to the transfer case output yoke. I assumed the new driveshaft would come with them then. NOPE. Held the project up a day having to run into town and find the correct sized, fine threaded, grade 8 bolts with small enough heads to be able to get a wrench on them once they were seated against the yoke. I'm honestly not sure whether the kit or the driveshaft should have included the bolts, but It's something I didn't think of until the end of the whole process, so be prepared!- We have a very good driveshaft shop here in Denver that builds a lot of rock crawlers, and they warned me away from this kit, because they have seen a problem with a few where the output shaft or the output shaft yoke have been machined off center, and have caused a driveline vibration. If you are like me, a vibration in the driveline is the reason you are upgrading to an SYE in the first place, so you can get rid of it! I did not have this issue, the jeep drove SO MUCH better after all this work, it was like a new car. We don't know the exact amount of the original lift on the jeep, but I calculated it to be about 5 inches

Great SYE
Install took a couple hours over a few days. Hardest part was getting my harmonic balancer off of the output shaft (Instructions didnt say anything about how). Figured out that I needed three M6 bolts to force the balancer off. Cracked the case and installed the new components quickly. Came with an extra c clip and couldnt find where it went in the instructions. Ended up going to YouTube to see the install and figured out that they accidentally sent me an extra one. Once everything was installed I took the Jeep for a spin and it was as smooth as butter. Another issue I found was that if you reinstall your speed sensor and its not indexed right you will have no speed indication. Best way to figure it out is just to spin the VSS until it picks up the speed. Great product and will hopefully last a long time!

Cheaper to buy on Amazon than locally
This slip yoke eliminator kit installs fairly easily, and has been working great for me for that last 5 months. Product arrived quickly, the packaging inside was a little banged up, however, but didn't affect the performance of the kit. I swapped a 231 into my V8 ZJ, and this was just the ticket I needed to get rid of some bad driveline vibrations (around 7" of lift).
