Don't ask me to pick a favorite MMC because every book so far has been so good I can't pick. If you thought primal kink, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and possessive MMC only belong in dark romance, think again because Candice has put them all into a sports romance seamlessly! While I love Monroe's fierceness and independence, I love it even more when she finally lets Riggs in to help her instead of fighting against him. Riggs seems like a cocky jerk, but watching him realize he's falling for Monroe and how well he takes care of her was so sweet...and spicy. This book made me laugh, cry, sweat, and so much more. He's absolutely FILTHY!! The primal play, the restrained animalistic need, the way it all gets unleashed when he finally lets go! LAWD!! I love a good hunt and chase scene too and this one puts a whole new perspective on date night with a baseball player!!The bad boy of baseball meets his match in Monroe Decker who he later finds out is his sister's best friend. And wow does he fall hard!! Monroe was looking for a night of freedom, an escape from the life that was controlled by her parents in a search for independence and the chance to make her own way in the world. A one night stand with no names or personal details, just a night of fun with zero commitment.Never expecting to see each other ever again, they meet two years later and are instantly at each other's throats. But when Riggs lets his temper get him in trouble with his team one too many times, he asks Monroe to help him clean up his image by agreeing to pretend to be his girlfriend. If she hates him, she can't fall for him, right?Monroe was so strong and resilient through everything that was thrown at her and completely relatable with her thoughts and feelings. And the snarky banter between her and Riggs was top tier!! When they finally gave in to the way they truly felt about each other, their chemistry was absolutely explosive!! And when she told him to be a "good boy", I couldn't get enough!!Riggs and Monroe were perfect together, the missing piece in each other's lives. I loved how Riggs was all in from the beginning, open and vulnerable with his feelings, loving and supporting Monroe unconditionally. How this bad boy turned into a total simp for his girl and was willing to burn the world down for her. I loved the late night away game phone calls and the way Riggs cared for Monroe especially in the mirror scene. And I loved how Monroe accepted Riggs completely, allowing him to be himself with her and how she made him want to be a better man.Ultimately, this was a story about unexpectedly finding everything you didn't know you wanted and never accepting anything less than you deserve. Honestly, lets be real I knew going in to this book that I wouldn't leave the same because I've read all the other books she has written and im pretty sure my brain chemistry has been altered.I'm usually not an "enemies to lovers" girly but, the fake dating aspect I think sucked me right in. I was hooked from the moment I started the book. The flipping banter between the FMC and the MMC was like TOP TIER. ALSO- the crap that Monroe says- like I can't. lol it was amazing.Riggs Valentine- MLB player for the Daytona Fury, and also Grace's brother. When he randomly hooks up with a girl and she runs away the next morning- no way is he expecting it to run into her, but, he does. Two years of hating each other and him losing his temper.. after a pretty bad thing happens he needs to change his imagine to stay on the team and his sisters best friend is the only one he trust to help him. EXCEPT, she hates his guts....Monroe has some unexpected changes coming her way when she shows up to work, and the owner tells her she is having to close the place. When an opportunity presents its self to help out her best friends brother theres no way it's happening. Not only does she hate Riggs more than anything, the fact that she actually might NOT hate him is much more scary.SO GOOD. SO MUCH SPICE. I LITERALLY LAUGHED SO MUCH. ALL AROUND GREAT BOOK. LOVED IT AND SO EXCITED FOR THE REST OF THE SERIES!!!
