Awesome combo. Bought the trek model due to loving the original model I have so much.

The Amundson Savvy Rider Fishing Combo is a surprisingly light kit that has plenty of room for extras. It weighed only 1.78 lbs with the nylon bag included. There are Velcro straps to hold the collapsed fishing rod in place. There retention sleeves on the rod joints really hold the sections in place well. The rod is very light and flexible.Within the carrying case there are two mesh pockets to place additional wares in. It has a nice set of lures with a breakdown of what would be good for use in spring and summer versus fall or year round. These lures are already on the string. The fish ruler is made out of a durable material for repeated use. There is also included some spare lures. The case for the lures is also very durable with nice padding. Definitely a good kit for beginners!I would like it if the kit also came with a better grip for the end of the rod.Now just need a multi-tool, a knife and a cooler!

The pole is pretty awesome, once you figure out how it works (I was afraid I was going to break it when I first tried folding it up.) The tackle is pretty generic stuff, but I've never been much on using lures and prefer an old fashion hook with bait. The case is simple but seems to be of pretty good quality.

I always like to keep a portable fishing set up, with just about every craft I own. Just in case you wanna fish, spur of the moment. Usually it ends up being a telescopic pole, because of its portability. But, this is another great design.It is a great fishing pole, built kind of like tent poles. There is an elastic cord ran through it, so it pretty much tries to assemble itself. Folds down to be very compact, and they have included a case, and basic tackle that you can switch out with any of your favorites of course. Great for beginners, the reel is actually pretty nice, and very easy to use. Also great just to keep in the kayak, or with your paddleboard. Great product, great price, highly recommended.

I've never been much of a fisherman or angler, but recently we moved to a new neighborhood that has a few spots to fish within walking distance, and we have a little guy who soon may enjoy giving it a go. As such, I was looking for a very low cost entry point to get everything we needed without breaking the bank (or without having to do much research on what all we needed to get).I stumbled upon this set and oh my gosh it's perfect! It comes in a super compact and portable carrying case that, when opened, reveals an entire fishing set up with everything you need to get started. The pole itself feels super solid and like other nicer poles I have borrowed in the past when fishing on occasion with friends or family. The breaks down to be super portable but turns into (what I think is) a full size rod. I do think this is a "lefty" rod which simply means the reel is situated on the opposite side of other poles I've used, but really that doesn't make much of a difference (unless I'm sure if you're really serious about your fishing). I'm not sure if it's something you can change, but good to know.I was super impressed with how high quality the entire set was and how it really provided all that you need in such a small and affordable package. Highly recommend for anyone in the market who may be starting or maybe just wants a decent set for a good price.
