Beautiful Engaging Hindu lore
This series of books is a beautifully illustrated version of Hindu gods and goddesses exploits. It tells the stories via a grandmother sharing with her grandchildren these vivid stories. Also has a book for each of major Hindu holidays. Quite lovely boxed set.

Written by someone with zero talent
Why they had to be written in poetical format is beyond me, when clearly the author has zero talent for poetry.I embellish as I read and paraphrase 90 percent of the stories.Meh. If you find something better give this series a skip.

Average, gender biased mythology
While the book, illustrations etc will capture children's imagination but some of the language feels very outdated for the current times. All pratagonists are male, and female characters like Parvati , Sita are shown as weaklings. Even language used is insensitive , mentions of fair baby, beautiful woman and brave man etc. Best to avoid the book for young children since it reinforces stereotypes

Heavy words
Bought it for My 4 yr old. Language is tough for him. Heavy words used throughout. Also lot of violence, could have been managed better. The shlokas are written incorrectly.
