Q: Is there a way to increase the range? Maybe a better antenna?

Thank you for your question. The range of Retekess TD157 Restaurant Pager is 300 meters, sorry it cannot replace the antenna to extend the range. For a pager with a longer range, we recommend you the Retekess TD175, which is an upgraded version of the TD157, and the distance can reach 500 meters. Q: Thinking about trying this in a school to page students back to class. Our school is old and build with cinder block walls. Would it still work?
