Super easy to assemble; works perfectly
I ordered this stool because I could not find a fixed height chair or stool the right height for me to sit at a table and work on my computer. I dreaded having to assemble this stool, but to my surprise no tools were required and it took only minutes to snap everything together. I'm happy and so are my wrists (that had been struggling to type on a too-high surface).

Well made
This is just what I was looking for since I don’t sit at desk for very long and it will slide under and out of the way. It is well made and has a thick cushion seat.

High seat height, stabile at lower heights, comfortable.
After assembly and a few hours of use, here is a summary of my observations. Installing the five wheels was a challenge but the rest was easy. This stool is tall - the seat is 21 inches off the floor at the lowest position, 27 inches at the highest. The seat cushion is firm and the back rest doesn’t give. Everything appears to be well built and nicely finished. It is comfortable enough for me, and I like its stability at the lower seat height positions. After a few more days use, the wheel squeaking become grating. I put 5-6 drops of oil in each wheel's pivot pin, in the leg end and the wheel end of the pin. That stopped the squeaking. Suggest applying grease if available or at least oil before attaching the wheelsIt took significant blows with a rubber mallet to seat the wheels into the legs, more so than other chair wheels I have installed.. I held a 3/4 inch wide board on edge in the groove between the wheels and rapped the board repeatedly to drive each wheel pin into place. The back is only slightly adjustable for positioning closer to or further from the seat cushion - about a negligible 3/4 inch, and there is no height adjustment. I measured the back at 10 inches high by 16 inches wide. It is easily removed and reattached. With the seat at its lowest setting, the top of the back is 33 inches above the floor. The back has no noticeable give, it is pretty rigid. Typical of stools, the seat and back do not tilt.I was / am surprised that the lowest position of the cushion isn’t a least a couple of inches less than 21 inches from the floor. That is as about as low as is comfortable for my long legs. My just over five foot tall helper’s toes just barely touched the floor at that setting. I suppose someone could lower the seat height by two inches by replacing the wheels with felt pads, but it certainly would not move around as easily. The high setting of 27 inches is as tall as our tallest bar stools’ seats. There is a very good reason that bar stools typically don’t have wheels. My experience was that it felt dangerous to try to sit on this stool at the higher settings because the stool wanted to roll away on my hard vinyl planking floor. Getting off presented the same difficulty. As others have pointed out, many stools have foot rests and this model does not. Trying to use the stool at the higher seat settings felt awkward anyway, and without a foot rest, even worse as my legs were dangling in the air.Okay, enough with the cons. On the pro side, I am happy with the stool for use in my small shop, where I prefer to do my tinkering and small project woodworking sitting down. I was using a standard sized, wheeled, office chair without arm rests. It was wide enough that I kept rolling into the shop vacuum, cabinets, etc. as I scooted around in my narrow shop. This stool is narrower, and I am now having fewer collisions. The wide wheel base and five wheels make for a stabile stool at the lower height settings. The firm seat cushion and back are comfortable enough for me. The extra seat height compared to the old chair (21 vs 19 inches) and the firm cushion makes it easier to get up. Sitting down on any wheeled chair or stool is potentially dangerous, so I was pleased to find that this stool seems to have enough weight and rolling resistance to stay put while I am in the process of sitting down. More so than the old chair, and way better than my smaller, lighter, mechanic-style roller seat.

Durable and comfortable
I purchased this "stool" on May 9, 2015 for use in my shop, which has a concrete floor. (Not the smoothest)I have used this chair for the past 9 1/2 years, rolling back and forth while I am sitting on it. (I am NOT a little guy) I have had absolutely NO PROBLEMS with it. I have often wondered when the floor would destroy the casters.I was cutting wooden puzzles at my scroll saw, a few days ago, and noticed something black on the floor. Upon examination, it is a ring of plastic that is an outside part of one of the casters that contacts the floor. It is currently NOT affecting the usability of the chair, but the casters will need to be replaced soon.If you are looking for a comfortable and DURABLE stool/chair, I suggest looking into this Boss stool/chair! I not only will be replacing the casters, but I have may actually purchase another one so that I have a second chair for the rare occasion I have company in my shop.If you are looking for a comfortable and DURABLE chair, I recommend this Boss chair.
