Sacred Therapy: Jewish Spiritual Teachings on Emotional Healing and Inner Wholeness

This book shifted my view of my life. My Jewish background is very rich in knowledge, learning and practice. Yet this book changed me in very meaningful ways. Estelle Frankel discusses her own life, her struggles and insights in such a generous and giving manner that it's as though she's giving the reader a gift, the gift of inviting you to gently examine your own life, your own belief system, your own relationships. By relationships, I mean with other people, with yourself and with God. Yes, the operative word is "gently". There is no hard challenge, no daring, just a gentle invitation to look inside, make discoveries and consider new ways. I love this book and I highly recommend it, no matter where you are on your personal or spiritual path.

As a non-Jew who nevertheless deeply sympathises with Judaism, I have found myself in a situation where I need to cope with a difficult point in my personal life. Due to all this the book caught my interest while I was surfing on the net. Reading the book I discovered much healing inspiration in it, which derives from both the wisdom and experience of the author and the wisdom of the Supreme Good Himself and which, in addition to providing gentle and valuable suggestions and guidance, also calms down the soul at difficult moments. I am really grateful that I have come across this title and the only thing that I regret about the book is that it contains only 300 pages.

Wonderful writing, including traditional Jewish texts/stories, and clinical discussions.

This is a magnificent book. The author, Estelle Frankel is a gifted and brilliant spiritual teacher and guide. Her spiritual stories are profound and inspirational. However, for me, her tales/vignettes as a psychotherapist, especially in the first two thirds of the book, greatly weakened it. It it were not for the psychotherapy tales, it would have clearly been a 5 star book for me. However, I highly recommend it for the beautiful spiritual teachings.

What a superbly beautiful, wise, scholarly, compassionate book! Estelle Frankel is a treasure.

This book is kindling for an epiphany! I had to put this book down more than 5 times and wrap my mind around what I'd just read and how profound it was for me. I found this book fresh and very insightful ( your mileage may vary ).

Didn't find it very deep and not much about psychotherapy in it.
