DacassoLeather Desk Pad with Side Rails

This desk pad is absolutely beyond my expectation and I am very fussy about my things. It was very expensive, so I worried if it was as worth the cost. First, the package was wrapped in 5 separate layers. Bravo, to the company for their stellar packaging. It came in a strong card board box. It is absolutely beautiful! I love it so much! I hope it lasts forever.

Originally, I purchased the Dacasso Pad with 'Luxury Leather Desk Blotter for Writing' and returned it because the pad was 'blotchy' which made it look cheap. However, this Dacasso Classic pad with rails in Dark Brown has a smooth pad with no blotchiness. For our desk it is a little big and I would have preferred a 30x18 but it did not come in that size. Nonetheless, the Dacasso Classic is very classy and good quality.

After getting a new desk for me and a new office desk for my wife that we didn't want to get the top all scratched up, I decided to go in search of a nice desk pad for both of us that wouldn't cost a lot for both desks. Then the frustration sets in, searching locally in a variety of stores and I basically found nothing. Searching online, either led me to cheap poor quality pieces that seem to have a lot of complaints or pieces like these that seem to be good quality but expensive.In this case, I decided to go for the quality over price, settling on this one for my wife's desk and the Dacasso 38 X 24 for my desk (yes Amazon, I reviewed both items since I purchased them both here from Amazon, I say this since Amazon keeps deleting the review for some reason or another).Both size are well made and look nice (keep in mind that the center piece is a bit darker than what the photo portrays here) and will be a nice compliment to your desk but I still think they are overpriced for what they are and realistically should sell for half of the 150 for the larger (38 X 24) and 90 bucks for the 34 X 20 that they do.Unfortunately there are very few options in the market and very few choices unless you want a cheap plastic one that comes apart. For that reason, the cost is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

This desk pad arrived in a box within another box so it was fully protected from the elements outside. It's a nice leather blotter for an expensive credenza I just purchased and looks good on top. My only wish is that it had been not so brown but this was my own 'mistake' - it really is a chocolate brown as described, not a walnut brown which would have been a better match for me. The pad seems to stay in place if I don't put my elbows on top. The entire top is leather and the same color as the side rails which keeps it from being obtrusive - personally I don't plan on using blotter paper but if I was I'd definitely use a brown to keep it toned down versus a stark white. For my purposes this is a good product and appears to be well made - I'm retired and only use a desk/credenza for paying bills and to hide ugly cable wires, router, modem, printer etc. so I'm pleased! I have added a picture to show the color of the pad on top of a desk.

The pad is quite nice. However, the “Blotter Pad” is a total joke. It’s brown smooth cardboard, hardly capable of blotting anything.I am now on a search for real blotter paper; I write with fountain and dip pens every day, and though I use a rocker blotter, having an actual pad would have been nice. (Five sheets of brown card stock for $50 is a total ripoff).

UPDATE... After posting this review I received a call from the president of Decasso within hours. He did everything anyone could hope to rectify the situation. Excellent service. Decasso has a customer for life!Original Posting: What a shame. Product arrived with poorly stained leather (water marks?) and dimples (dents) on both sides. I have purchased many products from this manufacturer in past with positive results. But the quality control in this instance is entirely unacceptable. Packaging was excellent, only problem is that someone packed a noticeably defective product! This was to be a gift for my son this weekend. Total let down.

This is an excellent leather desk pad. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It arrived in a square package, unrolled. Needless to say, it looks absolutely beautiful on my desk and I believe I will have it for the rest of my life, which is why I went for quality in the first place. It is, however, on the pricey side, hence the 4 star rating. Other than that, a very good bargain.

This desk pad is exactly what I was looking for. The quality is excellent and I would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a desk pad.

I was looking for a proper leather blotter pad for my new roll-top desk, and this item fit the bill perfectly. My only critique echoes some of the other reviewers, I only wish they had included a sheet of plotter paper with the desk pad.
