Absolutely the Best ...
It’s funny when you think about it ... but X-Acto is just one of those brands whose “brand name” becomes the “thing” Itself. You know what I mean: Back in the day, “Thermos” became the name of the entire class of “keep ‘em hot/cold bottles.”And “Xerox” became the name of the entire category of copiers — as well as the synonym verb for the “act” of making copies (“I’ll just xerox this.”).Naturally, the owners of those brands had to defend against that — to protect their brands. But that kind of euphemism-creation is also a compliment/testimonial to the esteem in which those brands (and the products that hold the brand “badge” were held by consumers. The same is true of the wonderful hobby knives and blades made by X-Acto. To hobbyists, they aren’t modeling knives, they’re “X-Acto” knives. For X-Acto, that’s again a double-edged sword (yes, that bad joke was intentional). The firm must, of course, defend the brand. But it’s also a testament to just how superior X-Acto products truly are.As a lifelong modeler, I love X-Acto products.LOVE them.Indeed, what I’ve found through the years is that the cheap knock-offs are just that — cheap. As in ... lousy.Oh, I’ve occasionally succumbed to super-cheap prices or lack of brand availability at a hobby show or flea market and bought unbranded knock-offs.And I’ve regretted it every time.EVERY time.I can’t begin to count how many non-branded hobby knives I’ve broken — or pitched in the trash in frustration and disgust. In the knock-offs, the blades just won’t stay tight. Or the blade fixtures — made of cheap materials — just snap.I’ve experienced those frustrations over and over ...I bought this X-Acto knife figuring I’ll have time (not having a commute for awhile) for building models or rockets with my son.I already see — again — how much better X-Acto knives are ...So glad I bought this ...

So good it's worth stealing.
Knife lasts a through hundreds and hundreds of blades. It's so good, someone stole it from me at work and that's the only reason I bought more.

keeps coming loose!
As a long time RC modeler, these blade handles suck. I bought a 6 pack, and ALL of them loosen after very little use. total crap. good price for a crappy product.

Total Junk
I bought a set of X-acto knives, and the knife like this one is junk. It will not tighten up and hold the blade in place. I had to go buy a craft knife that was not an X-acto to get a knife I could use and depend on. X-acto used to be well built knives, but no longer. I won't ever buy X-acto again.
