Great tool. Worked surprisingly well

Purchased this set as a gift, and they did not disappoint. After owning a pair of my own I knew the durability and ease of use of these Klein strippers. They strip wire with ease and remain sharp after hundreds of wires going through the blades. The handle is comfortable to use for long periods of time, and I love how they expedite stripping large groups of wires.

Works great! Much better than those auto-sizing strippers. Pay the money and get the Klein.

This is my first auto stripper and it works great. Blade is machined well and closes precisely. At first I thought the little rough edges in between the notches were a flaw - they actually line the blades up as it closes. The grip is quite wide. Fine for me but this may be a bit cumbersome for someone with small hands to operate compared to a standard wire stripper, especially repeatedly. It’s also a bit clunky to store, although the wire cutter can be used as a mounting hole to put it on a pegboard. It might also fit upside down in oval rings for vice grips. It works extremely well with solid copper and large gauge wire. No scoring and perfect lengths, fast. I use mine for electronics projects and audio cables, so smaller stranded wires are common. Because of the way the tool is designed, it will SNAP CLOSED and FRAY the fresh copper wires you just exposed. I took one star off for this, but it’s possible to avoid: after stripping, don’t release the grip. Pull back on the wire as you slowly release. The vice part will relax enough for the wire to slide out before it snaps shut and crushes the strands. Conclusion: Pros - cheap, well-made, reliable. This would be ideal for small electrical jobs at home. Cons - works better on thicker wires. Wide storage footprint. Easy to accidentally fray stranded wires.

This works great and strips the different size wires!

I'm going to school to become an airplane mechanic and part of my training has been wiring up various electrical devices. Part of what involves is cutting and stripping wires. The Klein wire strippers are the best I've used. I've mostly used pliers style strippers in the past and always had trouble getting the insulation off, especially with stranded wire. The insulation either wouldn't cut all the way through or some of the strands would break off or get nicked. These make stripping the wire fast and easy. You line the wire up with the right gauge and squeeze. No stands broken or stripped and the insulation comes off cleanly every time. I've had more experience cutting wire. I've used some really good pliers style wire cutters and some really awful ones. Again, these are some of the best I've used. The issue I've had with other cutters is that the end of the wire gets points because most cutters have a V shaped blade. The insulation stretches around the end and it can make stripping it off more difficult. It also just doesn't look as nice as when it's flush. These cutters have a hole you put the wire into up to 10 gauge, squeeze and you get a nice clean cut, no stretched insulation, no varying length of strands, just a flush cut that makes life so much easier. For $30 this is a must have if you do any regular work with copper wire. The only thing I wish this had was replaceable dies for the strippers like some more expensive strippers in this style do. The smallest wire you can strip with theses is 20 gauge, which generally is fine with the work I'll be doing with them. However, many electronics use 22 or 24 gauge wires, so it's a bit disappointing these won't work for those sizes. Other than that I really can't think of anything that I find lacking with these. They're simple, practical, easy to use, and they just work. I'll update my review if anything comes up as I use them, but as of my writing this, they're amazing.

Excelente pelacables, lo he usado diario por laras horas desde hace una semana que lo adquirí y sigue teniendo el mismo agarre al cortar el cable, cumple de manera impecable su función. -Ahorro tiempo al cortar cable en un solo movimiento (usar navaja o cutter retarda demasiado) -Viene con las medidas AWG para cortar cable o alambre (según sea el caso), al principio tardas en ubicar la ranura para el calibre que tienes, después te acostumbras y lo haces por instinto. -Sistema lubricado para evitar la corrosión de los componentes de corte y sujeción. -Excelentes materiales de construcción y buen diseño, personalmente me gusta el azul que eligieron. P.D. Adquirí la pinza ponchadora de esta misma marca y al igual que este pelacables me fascinó, como dicen las reseñas anteriores: Volvería a comprarlo y vale cada centavos.

I was pretty on the fence about these, but I'm glad I invested in them. Rewiring an old house, they stripped 60yr old 10, 12 and 14 without damaging the copper, and pulled off insulation that I legitimately couldn't get off with my regular strippers. Worth the investment if you're not working with brand new wire all the time. I was also thrilled with the ability to get those tight, not much left in the box wires stripped with minimal effort. I tested on several chunks of new and old wire and these reliably strip without notching the copper. They may not be worth it for everyone, but I'm glad I made the investment and would recommend them for your kit.
