This thermal camera feels like unlocking a hidden layer of reality. The image quality is excellent, sharp and detailed enough to make heat patterns instantly obvious without squinting or second guessing. What you see makes sense straight away, which turns inspections into clear decisions instead of educated guesses. Speed is impressive. It responds instantly, refreshes smoothly, and keeps up with real work rather than lagging behind it. You point, scan, and understand. The ease of use is spot on too. The controls are intuitive, the screen is clear, and you are up and running almost immediately without a manual glued to your hand. Build quality inspires confidence. It feels solid, well balanced, and designed to be used regularly without worry. Battery life easily supports long sessions, and the whole package delivers far more than expected for the price. TLDR: Great little thermal camera with well rounded feature set and inbuilt storage. I got this camera to deal with the ongoing problems with the RTX 4090/RTX 5090 graphics card cable burning/melting issues and it does the job great for my RTX 3090 atm for making sure those electrical fires are not humming away in the background. I also found it very useful for finding the cold spots in the house and figuring out why mould was growing in certain spots in my flat and well you can see for yourself certain corners get very cold which is perfect for moisture and mould growth! Pros: - Decent native resolution for the price 128 x 128 pixels, up sampled to 240 x 240 to help you see with a bit more clarity. - Auto-adjustment of temperature range (almost instantaneous) and finding min/max points (1 second) is fast and consistent. - Onboard storage is great with 480 mb enough for roughly 5000ish photos on the device that you can access by plugging in the USB cable to your computer. - Easy to use simply turn on and go. All settings are easily available via the OK button. - Good frame rate not jittery or laggy with the 25 hz setup. - Very fast wake times from idle (instant) and decently speed start up time from cold start (7 seconds-ish). Cons: - A native 240x240 or similar rez would be lovely but they cost around double the price of this unit typically so understandable it isn’t. If looking at other brands be wary as some are 96x96 or smaller up sampled to 240x240. You want as much native pixels as possible!

Works well at identifying hot/cold areas. Responds to changes in temp quite quickly - there's a noticeable delay but it's maybe about a quarter second so not a problem for me. I was worried that the heat sensing display wouldn't be very have the resolution but while it wasn't high res it was good enough to make out electrical cables from around 60cm and radiator pipes from 1m. It didn't seem blotchy in any of the modes and was good enough for me. I was hoping it might help me find the source of some drafts in the room, it did show up some cold spots around the floor but I'm not totally convinced they're the source. I didn't expect it to be able to show up drafts so I'm not knocking points off for that but just be aware. Battery life seems good, I've not needed to use it for long periods though. I used it continuously for maybe 2 hours on and off and the battery still showed full. It's handy having a digital readout of the current centre spot temperature but as this model doesn't have a pointer it's not too easy to be sure what it's pointing at. The temperature is shown in white in the top corner and can often get difficult to read when the background is a light colour. You can switch colour modes with a button which sometimes helps. I'm not sure how accurate it is but I think it's at least good enough for relative comparisons. Overall for my purposes it's quite expensive but for the right purpose I think it does the job well.

If I were to summarise: the TOPDON TC004 Mini offers very good value. For the money you get a capable handheld thermal camera that will likely do most “real world” tasks quite well. Just go in with realistic expectations: you won’t get top-tier resolution or all the advanced features of pro devices

Well worth the money. No set up time. It’s out of the box and doing the job. Not apps to download or any fuss. Paid for itself the first day we used it. Showed us the cold spots that needed addressing in moments and gave enough detail that we could pinpoint holes in our insulation and sort them.

I bought this item to help with some home improvements. And wow, what a brilliant bit of kit this is. I can see me using this a lot with all the jobs I’ve got lined up. Starting with what is in the box, Topdon provide a 16Gb card with the camera. A nice little extra, as often you buy something and on delivery it’s not included. Then you have to purchase a memory card and have to wait to have it delivered before you can use your item. Other contents in the box includes a Charger, usb cable, carry case and instruction manual. It comes with a torch built in too, so you can even use this when it’s dark, which is another bonus. When you first unpack the camera and switch it on, you have to allow it to calibrate itself, then you have to set up a couple of things such as the language, date and time. Insert the memory card and you are away. Once again well done to Topdon for making everything so easy and straight forward. Also the battery is already fully charged and ready to go. No need to wait 2 hours whilst it charges for the first time. Whilst testing the thermal imaging camera in my house. I noticed a cold spot around the front door that I hadn't seen before, and wouldn’t have know about it. Further inspection identified a problem with the sealing that was causing a cold spot. It's fixed now, so draught eliminated. Video and images can be saved to the supplied 16Gb SD card and these can be analysed with the free software provided by Topdon (via download). Software is reasonably easy to figure out and even shows a distribution of the temperatures measured across the whole picture. Overall very pleased with the camera so far. Can see loads of uses that simply weren't possible before. From checking the performance of my radiators,doors,windows and even walls, the list is endless. and see how efficiently my house is holding heat, or not as the case may be. It’s so user friendly and I would definitely recommend it.

Worked out the box with minimal set up. I got this to check for drafts and gaps around the windows, doors etc of the house. So far its performed without issue. Its cheap, not sure what people expect in this price range but for me it does exactly what's needed in a domestic situation. The picture resolution is low but it is very easy to see what is what with it. If you needed to use this as a professional on an adhoc basis, it would probably work to highlight areas for concern as well. Took me a while to take the plunge with it but so glad I did. I opted for a self contained unit as the software reviews for the phone connected ones was so poor I didn't want to take the chance. I spent the first 30 minutes taking really important pictures, which transferred via cable without problem to my PC.

Device is OK, instructions are virtually non existent even online. I accidently accepted the wrong language when I first turn it on and spent 2 days on and off getting back to English. Reasonable product let down by poor instructions
