A feature packed UPS protects computer equipment and allows an orderly shutdown during power failure
It is a UPS and it does what a UPS should do. This small model is suitable for home use rather than being able to keep many computers running for any length of time. Others have commented that it is larger than they expected but given it contains transformer, battery and circuitry as well as 8 mains outlets it actually seems compact for what it is. Containing a lead acid battery it is also heavy. The wall mounting option could be helpful. Having two USB charging points is a nice additional feature and I run my desk lamp off one of them. I have not had it for long so cannot comment on how long it lasts. It definitely works as we get occasional micro power cuts lasting a second or two and I no longer have to worry about those losing me time and work. The surge protection is also valuable in this context. A lovely touch is that after tuning the power supply off using its power button you can turn it off at the socket and all the tiny amounts of power used by computers and their peripherals on standby is saved. The unit itself does hum gently and consumes some power so being able to turn in off in this way when not needed is energy efficient. So far it has performed well and is a very complete package. In event of a long power cut I think I would use it to save my work and shut down the computer. In a prolonged loss of power being able to charge phones and batteries for torches would be more useful than continuing to use the computer. BPC Energy has a useful website with the manuals. You can download their software which lets you see what the unit is doing. For this unit the software is not very useful but looking at their bigger units you can see where it would be invaluable for the IT department to monitor the situation during a power outage and advise staff when or what to shut down to avoid a potential significant problems.

Not strong enough for a gaming PC!
It works well and no complaints, strong electrical smell for a while. I bought it to protect a PC and it's just not strong enough, it protects the TV sound bar and WiFi now I had to buy another with higher VA to cover my pc. I'm fully ready for any more power cuts, no stopping the gaming session now.

Great for price, size and build and protection.
For the price and home office needs the weight and quality of the product - is a bargain. Wanted something to protect for spikes and drop outs when power cuts occur or doing bios updates on an non q flash type board and this ticked the boxes. Comes with 8 sockets - 4 bat and charge protection and 4 just charge protection. User replacable battery with a simple cross head screw driver to access. Charges nicely and good and simple display. Protecting an AM4 system with NViDIA 4060 and 1440p Gysnc - Freesync monitor and keyboard and mouse. Great for where you also have only 2 sockets and handy for those with fish tanks when your away for batt cover for heating etc.

Pleased with this
I bought this to keep my Wi-Fi router running in the event of a power cut. Works ok although it does seem to run quite hot. It’s heavier than I expected but not a problem. There are 8 UK 3 pin mains sockets, 4 are stabilised for computers etc. and the other 4 are for mains backup if electricity goes off. Overall, good product.

Very basic inefficient equipment
The equipment is defined as having an energy store of 1000VA - a nominal 1000W. This energy is stored in a 12V lead/acid battery. The DC output is converted to 240V AC but energy output is only 600W. Normally such conversion would result in power loss of 8-15%. The actual loss is 40% - a very low efficiency. Others have commented that the inverter runs very hot. The equipment is very basic.

Good hardware. Adequate software.
So I'm a bit conflicted over this. In terms of straight power, this UPS is much better value than the big-name competition. However, the software - essential for graceful shutdown of a PC - is not easy to find. It's not hosted on the BPC web site (despite there being software for all their other ranges of UPS ) and clicking the link to the third-party site results is a security warning. The software, once you get it, is very Windows 98, but it does work (so far, at least). A technophobe might struggle with the process of finding, downloading and configuring the software. At least one Amazon 1-star review is from one such person. I've tested it by turning off the power to the UPS and watching the connected mini-PC shut down gracefully. I'd buy it again I think, but the manufacturer is really doing themselves a disservice by not providing better software.

Works as expected
Nice SOHO UPS, shows power %, battery %, works as expected. Plenty sockets, splits battery and protection only lines.

Ideal for home
Quiet to run and sits there until the power cut. An audible alarm confirms it's running off battery and no problem with the items plugged in
