Is it a game? Is it thinly disguised porn? Is it drivel?
This game is funny for about two minutes and then it becomes just plain repetitive and boring. If you're a young teenage boy, you'll get plenty of pleasure from seeing the half naked ladies but this game is for adults (18+) so I guess it must be aimed at letchy old men that want to drool over bouncing boobies and the like. If you want to play a game, buy anything for a fiver from the bargain bucket at Amazon, you're bound to get something better than this. If you want porn, go visit an internet site - there are plenty out there that will let you view stuff for free. So, to go back to the questions in the title of this review: the answers are, No, Yes and Yes. Don't waste your money on this purile rubbish.

Modern Version fails to match the Old Master
Okay first things first. This is actually a nice looking game there's been some care and effort put into the graphics the game looks nice the campus and streets are an intresting enough environment to roam around and the voice actings pretty nice. The humour is purile and toilet based (it's a Larry game if you're after Wildean bon motes this is the wrong place to look (though that said check out the Science Lab) but appropriate for the game. Okay so what about the plot? Erm well it's small and functional. To qualify for a dating game show you have to complete a series of elimination games all well and good. To qualify for the elimination games you have to get tokens of affection from young ladies around the campus and streets. This is where the problem lies. There's a limited number of games to play and they get repeated from girl to girl increasing in speed and length. Which gets 1) dull and 2) bloody difficult. There's a whole bunch of side quests and odd things and there's some fun moments (watch out for the encounter with the video machine) you can buy ruder loading screens, nude poser models, and naughty and nude modes for the characters (nb there's 2 versions of the game Adult rated and Mature in Mature floating censored signs pop up in various key areas) It's a new direction for Larry which is good it's a fun game but needs better or at least more varied mini games and a stronger main plot (always a feature in the original Larrys).

Very very disappointed
The title of the review says it all. If you are about 8 years old and enjoy a glorified and expensive version of Parappa the Rapper then buy it. If you don't..... then don't buy this game. All this game seems to be is level after level of hitting buttons in a sequence. If you loved the old Larry games and are expecting this to be the same then you WILL be disappointed, bring back the point and click adventure games!!!

Basic gameplay but GREAT FUN
Yes there isn't a lot to the game just a selection of mini games and variations on them. But I just found myself drawn into this world the characters while not totaly realistic are plenty of fun, if you're looking for a serious gaming experience maybe this isn't for you, myself I just enjoyed the ride and will go back to play it again and again.

Moderately Amusing; But Somewhat Repetitive
Sadly, the dramatic graphical improvements over the previous 'Larry' games is countered by a significant reduction in playability. Most of the sub-quests come down to one of five or six of the same mini-games, over and over again. The scenes and situations that little Larry Lovage finds himself in are amusing, and after a while you'll find yourself playing the games just to see more of the plot unfold. If you like playing the same old "bash the buttons in the correct order" mini-games again and again, this'll suit you. But if you'd rather just see the plot tick by you're better spending your money on seeing a movie.

A Little Different From The Original
I can remember playing the original Leisure Suit Larry fifteen years ago, when you had to prove you were an adult to play it by answering a number of questions about American history. Leisure Suit Larry - Magna Cum Laude is still aimed at an adult audience, however you require teenage lightening fast reactions to play it! Instead of the kind of game where you have to figure out what to do next, you have to complete lots of little skill games to get anywhere. Fortunately you have the option to "Wimp out" from some of these games but not all of them. If you like these little fast reaction skill games, and you don't mind the adult material then this is for you. However if you are someone who gets frustrated when you have played the same skill game so many times without winning, then I wouldn't recommend it!
