Connection where 2 parts meet leaks
Despite the previous reviews, I purchased these because everyone's experience is different. I really wanted these to work as I was going on vacation and it would have been easier to use these than get someone to come every day to water plants. We even used the correct bottle (Dasani) for the smaller size opening. Unfortunately, where the two parts connect (the smaller opening connects to a bigger opening, so you can use a larger bottle) they do not screw into each other, they merely push into each other, they leak. So even if it would work, I couldn't find out because the two parts leak at their connection. I'm returning these because of that reason. I would guess if you found a large bottle (like 2 liter or evian or whichever one is the one you need to use) it would probably work. Unfortunately this was unusable to me.

Useless
These spikes just don't work. I got them for taking care of my plants while I was on vacation. I tried several ways of connecting them to bottles and they all ran out of water within one day. If you really want to get automated plant watering, get the Blumat spikes. Their design is much better and they WORK.

Over-watering :-/
Water is supposed to have a tiny slow trickle... water is flower WAAAAAAAAAAY too fast out of these things! The other 1s I bought for $0.99 at the 99cents store are MUCH MUUUCH MUUUCH more reliable and protects my plants for over-watering.

Maybe for indoor
You have to just place the bottles on them , they don't screw on. When I got home from vacation some had blown off in the wind

good, but require checking
they will get more water into your plants than nothing, but i can't depend on them to fully water the way i can other similar tools. but they are less expensive than many.

Prefect for when I go on vacation I don't have to worry about my plants drying out

perfect if you have fruit flies around your plants.
I'm using this for my maple bonsai. It fits perfectly in a small pot. Just attach it with your water bottle into the soil and put some rock or something to hold it straight so it won't fall.

Cheaply made.
Other stakes have screwed on tips. These tips are just slide on. Tends to leak often.
