Easy to use and well designed device, limited use
This film scanner apparatus is well designed. It looks and feels very nice quality. The top surface has a leather texture, and the yellow sides are very aethetically appealing. Putting it together was very simple, and there was inlcuded also very clear intructions. The light box for the film frames works really well. It's a very consistant bright light that is perfect for its purpose. It has a simple on/off slider switch. One very minor point is that this on/off switch is behind one of the legs of the device, it would be easier to access if it was outside the device. The instructions point to the official app for scanning photos, and overall I found the app easy enough to use. It doesn't automatically crop the photo (at least I didn't see that option), but it wasn't too difficult to do this manually. However, the app does have some limitations. I didn't see an auto adjust option. I had to spend some time to get the colour of the photo correct, and even then it wasn't that great. This is partly due to the old negatives being faded probably, but the app could have helped in this important step more I think. You obviously don't need to use the app though, and I found it easier to just take the photo with my normal camera app, then do the manipulation on my computer. The main problem I have with this device though, is that, the quality just wasn't that good. I think this is the unavoidable result of using a smartphone to scan a film negative. The output looks compressed and isn't terribly high resolution either. However, this is totally dependant on the phone, and maybe my phone camera just isn't that good.Overall, easy to use device, that might not produce the best quality photos but is nonetheless well-made.

Easy to use!
What simple product, but oh so useful. I was amazed how clear the negs turned into photos I could see and identify.

Can't focus properly - KLIM K2 mobile 35mm film scanner
The good things:1. Easy to set up2. Easy to use3. App is okThe best thing:Able to change the negative into th positive and see what's in a picture - that's the best thingThe not so good:1. Sharpness/focus - unable to adjust it therefore the capture is completely out of focus and blurry.2. Pinching the phone screen to zoom in/out only makes the capture bigger/smaller - nothing else3. As a scanning device to be able to print the pictures later or add to collection - not so good because of the lack of proper focus.4. Unable to make positive without taking a picture of negative first. Extra work for nothing.Other things:1. There's a magnet on the plate but of you have phone camera case on or phone camera lense cover on - magnet won't be working. Even if a phone case is thin.Could help of position og the magnet could be adjusted. In my opinion, disappointing.

It works
I was really excited at the idea of this. I think the results could be better, but I think that's a me problem. I wasn't able to get my photo to look like an actual photo; it had a blue hue to it, and I couldn't get it to show in colour. I really do think I am missing something here. I downloaded the app, and that helped a bit, but I still couldn't get mine to look like a proper photo. I'm going to spend some more time messing around with the app to see if I can figure it out. At the moment I have given it 4 stars because it does seem to work; I just need to figure it out.
