This is a great little pc. I especially like the small package - it fits anywhere. I use it on a daily basis and about a month ago, Win11 Pro hard crashed (due to no fault of my own or the Mfgr GMKtec). I could not in any way get it to boot up any further. It was then passed the 30 day Amazon limit to return for a refund. I sent an eMail to GMKtec explaining my issue. I was positively impressed with the speed that they responded to me. They understood what my problem was, and they directed me where I could download a new .iso image (the same as what originally came with a new pc). When I reinstalled this, my new GMKtec was restored and now works perfectly. My hat is off to this company and I give them an A+. I am very impressed with them, and I wouldn't hesitate purchasing another product or referring them to my friends or anyone. Thank you to Julian for all of your help in taking care of a greatful customer.

It dose it's job well. I am using it for my 64GB eMMC M.2 drive that came from my Steam Deck as a Ventoy drive. If I get another 2230 M.2 SSD I'll be purchasing another one of these.

Great option for the price and I would definitely get another one if I had the need. The case and included cable both feel solid and the case is easy to get into without having to worry about opening up unintentionally. If I had to point out a shortcoming, the built in heatsink is useless without a thermal pad, but for your standard drives one typical thermal pad isn't thick enough to come into contact with it and two is too thick, so I have to loosen the screws on the heatsink so it'll sit lower in order for it to make contact with the thermal pad. Minor issue really, and wouldn't stop me from getting another.

Had a SN770m M. 2 2230. Install And unfortunately it started to get super hot, super hot that it ejected from the my MacBook by itself. At first I thought it was the cable loose so I change it... Did several test and concluded that I was the heat that it was producing the kept enjecting it in the middle of transfer. So since is not returnable I will take it as a lost. For all you new buyers. These drives are awesome. Very reliable and fast. This is my third for all three of my Lenovo ThinkPads.

So, it generally does what it says: lets me take a small 2230 NVME SSD and put it in a caddy (reusing a drive from a dead laptop). HOWEVER, the product includes 2 things which make no sense in application: The case has a "heat sink" component, and comes with some thermal pads. Now, these thermal pads are intended to mate a heat source (like an SSD chip) to a heat dissipating surface (like a heat sink, or a fan assembly in a laptop)... THE THERMAL PAD AND THE HEAT SINK MAKE ZERO CONTACT. None. There's about 5mm separating the two. My concern is twofold: 1- The chip is not receiving any cooling benefit at all from the enclosed un-ventilated plastic case); and 2- The thermal pad may actually be acting as an insulator in this situation. SO - I would NOT buy this for any applications where you expect the drive to be performing any sustained read/write activity. Using it for simple file backup and transport will be fine, but you should look to a more robust product for heavy use.

I trust Orico and buy many of their other products. They are also responsive if you ever need to contact them through Amazon seller channels. As a PC tech, I often get orphaned 2230 NVMe drives and they are about impossible to move to other boards that cannot mount them. I then took one of those drives, wiped it and made it into a portable backup. It is NOT a travel backup, but what I use to sync my images collection on an image server that sits on my desk.

The integrated heatsink is not big enough, nor can it dissipate heat quickly enough to prevent drives from overheating. The heatsink is also exposed, and WILL burn you if you touch it. Two thermal pads are included. They both must be used in order for the drive to make contact with the heatsink. Problem is that the heatsink screws protrude on the bottom, tearing into the thermal pad if you install or remove the cover. My NVMe 4.0 drive can easily reach 75+ Celsius and I've seen it reach 85+ degrees Celsius after large transfers, slowing down substantially, and resulting in drive health warnings. Drive is well below speed specifications and should be able to sustain near 1000 MB/s sequentially read and writes, and I only get about 666w and 1000r. This is through a USB 4 40 Gb/s port (5000 MB/s limit). Screen shots displays temps after a 20 GB transfer of videos and photos.

Acquistato per poter continuare a sfruttare un ssd Nvme 2242 che avevo rimosso da un pc. Devo dire che è un case fatto bene. Non è la prima volta che acquisto accessori di questo brand, e devo dire che mi sono sempre trovato benissimo. Qualche piccola osservazione sul case: - in fase di installazione, la pasta termica deve essere abbastanza spessa, non mettete quella sottile altrimenti non andrà a contatto con il dissipatore passivo. - il dissipatore passivo scalda un bel po', quindi occhi quando lo usate e lo prendete in mano.

Das ORICO M.2 2230 NVMe SSD-Gehäuse macht insgesamt einen sehr guten Eindruck. Die SSD passt exakt und passgenau hinein, nichts wackelt oder sitzt schief. Der Einbau ist unkompliziert und schnell erledigt, auch wenn man das nicht ständig macht. Im täglichen Einsatz funktioniert das Gehäuse einwandfrei. Die Verbindung ist stabil, die Geschwindigkeit passt, und es tut genau das, was man erwartet. Ich habe es unter Linux, Windows und macOS getestet – auf allen Systemen wurde das Gehäuse sofort erkannt und lief absolut problemlos, ohne Treiber, ohne Sonderlösungen. Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt: Das Plastik rund um die Schrauben ist etwas empfindlich. Zieht man die Schrauben zu fest an, können schnell feine Mikrorisse entstehen. Das beeinträchtigt zwar nicht direkt die Funktion, sollte aber definitiv erwähnt werden. Hier also lieber mit Gefühl arbeiten. Fazit: Insgesamt ein solides und gut funktionierendes M.2-Gehäuse mit breiter Kompatibilität und guter Passform. Wenn man beim Zusammenbau vorsichtig ist, bekommt man hier ein zuverlässiges Produkt mit gutem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. 👍
