Unstable: (An Enemies-to-Lovers Contemporary Romance)

Keaton Cash has a dirty mouth and I’m here for it
Unstable was out of my usual wheelhouse but I’m so glad I came across it. I’d been itching for a cowboy romance but my kindle is usually full of dark romances so I knew I needed something that wasn’t your normal small town Rancher story and jeez did I get it.Death of a loved one, mental health and well-being challenges, alphahole cowboy with a way OTT protective streak and old school gender role outlook. However, and this is what I was looking for, along with all that is a story of coming home, unrequited love, fierce loyalty, romance, passion and forgiveness. Which made my heart swell throughout when it wasn’t having palpitations from the words leaving Keaton Cash’s mouth! I loved how SE Hall wove some spicier suggestions in through Keaton’s admissions that piqued this story away from the vanilla without actually writing those scenes. (Check my highlights)Henley, in her mid-20s is called back home following a tragedy to a small town she fled nearly a decide prior, forcing her to face up to not only what she left behind but who.Keaton Cash is a hotter than hell cowboy, who knows his way around a farm and a woman who’s been waiting a damn long time for his girl to finally realise who she belongs to.Gatlin Holt shows up just when Henley needs him most; a capable farmhand with more than enough advice and philosophical support to go around.I’ve read a lot about Henley and I can see why she’s a love her or leave her character but I loved her because she has been written in such an unapologetically real way. Sometimes people’s own brains can convince them of something being real so much that it takes an incredible strength and will to move past that. Henley isn’t meek and mild, she lashes out, treats people in ways she’s disappointed with herself for and is constantly on the defensive. However, she owns it and the journey of love that we go on is this book is far wider reaching than a couple falling in love with each other….there’s also, and possibly more powerfully, the journey of self-love.As the blurb states, there are 3 characters but don’t be put off; this isn’t a love triangle.🎶 You’re just too good to be true 🎶

Great Novel
What a wonderful book this is. Exceptionally well written with a fantastic plot about second chances in life, love, and self re-discovery.Henny is a fabulous character. And Keaton is just absolutely swoon worthy. His love for her is a beautiful thing. Why does it get four stars? It is very slow moving and Hennys slow thought process drove me nuts. The author could cut a fourth of the book out easily and it would still be great just by cutting down some of the circles the characters speak in. It did get old at times. Also, Gatlin... The surprise at the end just didn't work for me. I wish that he had just been left alone. He worked, his character worked, his actions worker. I have read this sort of things in other books and it can work. It just didn't for me here and actually took away from the end result for me.

brilliant as ever with a real twist at the end..!! 5*
Everything I have read from this author has been superb, I've not read every book or series but I am well aware of what S.E. Hall is capable of.We've witnessed all to well what she does and how she portrays her characters with their wonderful tearms of endearments and conversational skills she normally singles one out and gives them the power to render us speechless, remembering Sawyer Beckett from the (Evolve Series) and Conner from Pretty Instinct and in this story it is Keaton however let's not forget Gatlin with his words of wisdom. Unstable opens up with Henley having come home after being away for about 8 years, there's plenty of intrigue and it only gets more so with insinuations and the odd name dropping and having been introduced to Merrick you can't help but wonder and want to know the finer details. When Henley arrives at the family farm she finds Gatlin, along with Bourbon the family dog who she remembers with great fondness. Gatlin's pretty much waiting for her and after introductions we soon realise that Gatlin is going to have a big impact on Henley and we can already sense this is one nice guy.... nothing seems out of the ordinary why should it.!Henley's long history with Keaton picks up where it left off, there has always been a love hate thing going on between them and that's all Henley's doing she sort of created it for obvious reasons and we have so much to find out.As the storyline progressed so did Keaton's charms and slowly but surely they were working their magic on Henley and us too.!Keaton was extremely patient, he'd waited this long for Henley what difference was a little longer going to make. Thankfully Henley with a little help from Gatlin began to accept and see their relationship for what it truly was and should have been all along. This is a beautiful story and towards the end when Gatlin starts to fade into the background a little I started to wonder but didn't think to much of it and then when Brooke came on the scene she kind of took the place of Gatlin, she really occupied our minds it was a beautiful moment and again S.E. Hall doing what she does best with certain characters this author's imagination is unbelievable. There are a few emotional and very touching moments especially when Henley found Gatlin and the realisation set in that it was time he moved on, it had me in tears and then When Henley found Bourbon under the tree... oh dear.!I have to say I was so taken by surprise, I did not see that coming at all... I'm on about Gatlin, I was patiently waiting and hoping that he was going to somehow be bought back on board to work on either farm.. it wasn't to be though S.E. Hall certainly did a good job of throwing us.After Keaton explains to us Henley's invisible friend it all made sense... absolutly brilliant..The epilogue was beautiful, I had a real smile on my face.!Thank you..

Hypnotising and Swoony😍♥️♥️🔥🔥
This is the story of Henley, her beautiful feelings, second chances, forgiving herself with the help of a swoon worthy, self assured, cocky but absolutely adores her *and a freaking plot twister*😍♥️😳With this being my second book of Ms. Hall, I feel her writing style has a certain mysterious magic to it. It pulls you with both claws strongly in you such that you can't keep the book down and nor would you realise how fast you devour them.I've definitely fallen head over heels with another one of Ms. Hall's books. The story right from the start pulls you in Henley returning to her farmland after she's abandoned everyone by not speaking to anyone or coming back as a result of the tragedy happened then.As she goes through heart breaking guilt of things left unsaid, people who ain't coming back having lost them, it's not easy for her.But when she returns there's her loyal dog, bourbon, waiting for her with love to welcome her back but also a stranger, Gatlin Holt.Gatlin, is a sweet and understanding man. He helps Henley, in her feeling lost. Helps her with the farm work and getting through every day becomes a little easier with his help. But then, comes crashing into her life back, her arch nemesis, Keaton Cash.Keaton is unapologetically in love with Henley but there are things from the past resolved. He is brash, cocky, but one thing is when it comes to Henley, he is done with holding back. I loved how he supports her through everything even when he's jealous of the other guy, Gatlin, helping her out with things. He's a man in a mission and he doesn't give up easily or ever.My.. My... Keaton is just something else. The type of man, a girl can't help but fall for. The things he says, his devotion, he redefines love for sure.I loved their journey together especially how Henley works through her guilt and starts taking responsibility for everything.Together they were both.... Fire... 😍🔥🔥🔥.BUT THAT LAST CHAPTER..... OH MY....I SO DID NOT SEE THAT COMING.... WOW 😳😳😳😍😍😍.Ms. Hall sure knows to knock her readers out in shock and surprise but alongside a alluring and hypnotising story for sure.Keaton is in my heart, I'm so jealous of Henley.. Keaton.... Sigh!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍. Loved loved freaking loved this one. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

♥️ Keaton & Henley ♥️
(Big Sigh) This Book was perfect! I absolutely loved everything about it! The storyline was beautiful and had ALL the emotional “feels” you want from a romance book.Henley Calvert has returned home to Ashfall after eight years of absence, to bury her mother who tragically died in a freak accident; and to claim her inheritance - the Double H cattle ranch.Keaton Cash is the smoking hot alpha hole from the neighbouring ranch, and Henley’s nemesis. He bulldozed his way back into her life the moment she returned home and came to her rescue at exactly the right time she needed him. He also made it his life mission to convince her to stay in Ashfall and to win over her heart. This man was so dayum fine in every sense of the word and I loved the way he took charge of Henley’s life, especially with the daily running of the farm. Henley didn’t stand a chance around him.The storyline was soul crushing and bursting with all the feels of love and loss, so be prepared to break out the tissues. I loved characters in this book and how beautifully they were written and developed; each one oozing with so much personality. I loved the storyline… it was so emotional at times, raw and realistic… and the bonus epilogue at the end of the book was perfect.I listened to the audio book whilst simultaneously reading the kindle version, and I absolutely loved the way the narrator, Brooke Bloomingdale, brought the whole book to life. She did such an amazing job with the character’s voices that I was able to completely immersed myself into the storyline.I have no problem recommending to anyone who loves reading small town, western romance books.

still not sure
I thoroughly enjoyed it but I feel I have more questions now then when I started. Henley comes back to her small town roots for devastating reasons and finds not much but everything has changed in the eight years she’s been away. What we know right away is she suffered the loss of someone close to her at the age of seventeen and due to dealing with it poorly her mother felt she needed to commit her to a hospital. She spent a year there and as soon as she turned eighteen she took off, no contact with anyone from her past. Now she’s in town having to face the music. She has to Wade through her grief Pat and present and two men come to help her Gatlin a surprising addition to the farm and Keaton her arch nemesis. Keaton is all kinds of Alpha, “listen here woman”, so if you’re not into that prob not the one for you. I liked it but now have so many questions and can’t voice them without spoiling it.
