I admit- I read reviews for this before I bought it just a few days before Halloween, in a last minute rush to find a cheap and temporary way to color my hair a "normal" color for my costume. My hair is two-toned at the moment as I am taking a break from all the dyeing to help my hair repair & heal for a bit. The top is my natural color- a mousy, horrendous brown/dirty blonde with ever-growing grey hairs peppered in.... The bottom is a pale yellow from all the lifting and dyeing. Since I go for as close to the original as possible with my costumes, this coloring would not do! I was going as Kiki from Studio Ghibli's film Kiki's Delivery Service. I needed a dark brown/black hair color. This product was one of FEW that actually offered a "normal" color. The reviews were mixed. The number one thing I worried about was the "crunchy" effect everyone mentioned. But- since I didn't plan better and had few other options- I crossed my fingers and bought two cans (also recommended from other reviews). They arrived very quickly (another reason this brand was chosen as opposed to others). Halloween night, I read the directions & started spraying!1) the coverage was PHENOMENAL! First spray and my section of hair was dark brown. 2) I did in fact use both cans for my shoulder length hair to get full coverage. No problem. 3) The crunchy thing did set in as the product dried. Granted, this was actually a positive for me as I have very thin, limp hair & Kiki's hair is very "poofy". I was able to use the spray to my advantage & got much more volume out of my hair. No other products needed. Brushing it did become impossible after two cans, but I managed. 4) while there was some transfer to the clothes that I put on over the hair when dried, it has all washed out with great ease- as did the spray residual in the bathroom and the color to my hair. Everything washed out in one go which was exactly what I needed.I will definitely be buying this again when I need my next temp hair color & some volume. If you want to be able to move and shake your hair, maybe try a different spray- but if you just need some color (and maybe a little extra volume/hold) for one night- this stuff is great!

Bought this black hairspray for a Halloween costume and it was perfect. Washed out easy. If you have long or thick hair and need to use it more than once, get more than one can. I intended to use it for 2 Halloween events and it started to run out prepping for the second event. My hair is short but thick and I used a little more than half the can the first time. If you just need it for black streaks and not your entire head, one bottle is probably sufficient. It is a little messy to apply. I'd recommend spraying outdoors and cover collar and face with paper towels to avoid staining. Wearing disposable gloves is a must too or it will stain your hands.

I bought this in Light Brown because I'm not allowed to have pink hair at work. I have that "neapolitan" hair. So I just needed enough to cover the pink parts. Lol.The light Brown is little on the darker side, but still blends well. It does dry like hair spray so I styled my hair before hand. In my opinion worked amazingly. And I washed my hair the day before so my hair was not wet.

My daughter used this for her costume. She has light/medium brown hair and it took the entire can on the top layer of her hair to show up. If you have a lot of hair, recommend lots of cans.

I bought 2 colors. Black & white. The white did not work AT ALL & it's not returnable. Don't do it.

I have natral bourbon hair color I tryed blond it made it mor orange red I would go lighter almost white

Works really well on dark hair! I used it for an old man costume and I used one whole can, but it made my hair look realistically gray. I even had people asking if that was my natural hair color. It left my hair a little crunchy but not as crunchy as I expected. The best part though? It washed out in one shower with relatively little effort. I will absolutely be buying this brand again should I need it!
