I bought this product in order to replace the similar product from PGYTECH brand. But I still prefer the one from PGYTECH brand because I feel that its design fits my workflow better. Both products are quite similar. You can even use the Quick Release Plate from PGYTECH brand and use it with the Quick Release Base from IFOOTAGE brand and vice versa. Both products can interchange Base and Plate. And it works perfectly.The main feature that makes me choose the one from PGYTECH over the IFOOTAGE is the Security Lock.Why?PGYTECH: You have to press the Security Lock to release the camera and you can re-attach the camera again without having to press the Security Lock again. That is, I can re-attach the camera with one hand.IFOOTAGE: You have to press the Security Lock to release the camera and press it again to re-attach the camera. That is, I have to press the Security Lock twice and use both hands to re-attach the camera again.This won't be a problem for many, but it is for me due to my workflow.Plus point for IFOOTAGE: it has a Bubble Measuring Level. Plus point for PGYTECH: easier release and repositioning system. Unfortunately, the perfect product doesn't exist. Both products are very good quality. Without a doubt.It would be the perfect product for me except for one detail!

I originally purchased one of these and tried it out on my tripod. I then realized that in order for this system to work how it is supposed to, I would need a second unit, for my Cobra 3 monopod. I'm not a professional photographer, so speed isn't really that big of an issue for me. But boy do these little gadgets make it quick and easy to switch my tripod head (I have the Komodo KS5, which I love) between my tripod and monopod. It takes a little practice to get used to it, but once you get the mechanics down, these work great.

Essential for my cobra 3. Solid build. Works perfectly

To begin with, I order 5 of these. Two of them were an old model that did not have a bubble level on the base and had a quality control card of 2022. Two more were a 2024 quality control with the bubble level. And the last one had a bubble level, no quality control card or the bag with sticker in it. It also did not come with allen keys, but it did have the buckle on the base that they connected to. I am not sure if this is a manufacturing or seller issue.The product how ever is excellent! I order the manfroto move and leofoto quick link before buying one of the ifootage seastars. The seastars are cheaper, and a far better product. The manfroto did not have any set screws, needed a socket to tighten the receiver plate, and kept spinning loosely using a fluid head. The leafoto has set screws, however the locking mechanism didn’t seem to latch well. Don’t let the packaging issue change your mind. It’s a great product and Amazon would fix an issue if you have one.

Great tripod accessory to easily, quickly switch out between gimbal and geared or fluid heads. Installs with a confirming click, holds in place. Releases easily to remove. A solid accessory for the tripod.

iFootage is an Amazing Product and I own a LOT of their products. Quality and reliability are all very Good.

I got this because I’m deep in the peak design system. The pd plates are hit and miss in going in this. I nearly gave up when I remembered I had a pgytech plate and that works perfectly. I guess I could just throw the sliding plate from the monopod into my camera, but I want that quick release convenience.
