Rainbow fun with a few smudges
Just tried out this kids' hair chalk set and it's been a colorful adventure. The chalk tray design is pretty clever, makes it super easy for little hands to apply without making a huge mess. Those unicorn-inspired colors are vibrant and fun, definitely a hit with the kiddos. It's great that it washes out easily, perfect for school dress-up days or just weekend playtime. Having eight colors in the set gives lots of options for creativity. Now for the slight color bleeds - while it's easy to apply, it can get a bit powdery and might stain clothes if you're not careful. The color payoff varies depending on hair color, shows up better on lighter hair. It can dry out hair a bit, so you might want to use some extra conditioner afterwards. The chalks themselves can break if handled too roughly. If you're looking for a fun, temporary way for kids to experiment with hair color, this set could be a winner. It's been great for adding some pizzazz to costumes and letting imaginations run wild. Perfect for parties or just rainy day fun. While it might not give salon-quality results, it's definitely brought some giggles and creative expression to our house. This little rainbow set has turned hair brushing from a chore into an artistic adventure!

Bright color that lasts but washes off with soap and water
This temporary hair color is super easy to use and fun for all ages. The small compact design makes it easy to take with you for events if need be and don’t have to worry about it spilling out. It has a compact design that slides into the case and is easy to take out. The tong like applicator makes putting it on the hair easy. You just grab a strand of hair and insert it in between the color applicator and sponge, squeeze together gently and the color shows up. For brighter color that lasts longer you can wet the hair first but we didn’t do that and the color was vibrant. It did come off in my hands a bit after putting my daughters hair up in a ponytail after but it washes right off with soap and water. The color also washes out of the hair just as easily.

Good color, decent coverage, but both hard to remove and messy
PROS:The color is strong and, while one or two passes won't give you full coverage (especially if your hair is darker), application is quick and easy, and making multiple passes to get a lock of hair fully coated doesn't that that long.CONS:The chalk rubs off fairly easily just by leaning your head against things or just running your hand through your hair, which isn't really unexpected with hair chalk, but given how easy it comes off onto surfaces you don't want it on, it's a bit annoying to remove. I had assumed I could just comb it out, but no. Rinsing got most of it out, but I did have to shampoo to remove all traces.OVERALL:This is fun and cute, but don't put it on unless you're going to have time to shower before you need "professional" hair again, or if you're wearing right. One other thing I want to add is that, at the current prices, ordering a single color absolutely isn't worth it (the individual packs are way overpriced imo), especially when you can get eight for only two dollars more (which at 8 dollars actually IS a decent price).

Not just for kids!
I never tried this kind of hair coloring before, and I really like it! I don’t have time to keep my white streaks constantly dyed in the semi-permanent fun colors, so this is a quick and easy solution. Plus, you can change the color after you wash your hair. Application is quick. There is a slight petroleum (I think) odor at first, but it quickly dissipates. The color stays in well until you wash it, and if you get any on your hands, it comes off easily with soap and water. I have not tried using it in heavy applications (I am using it on white hair, so it doesn’t take much to get a nice pastel color), so I don’t know what a heavy application feels like. But a light application really doesn’t feel sticky or anything. I spray it with hair spray to make sure it stays put.

Colorful, even on dark hair
Temporary Hair Coloring Hair Chalk for Kids 8pcs Temporary Hair Chalk for Girls Washable Gift for Kids Aged 4 5 6 7 8 9 10+The chalk (even the lighter colors of pink and yellow) shows up vividly on my dark brown hair. It stayed on the hair, but felt like wearing damp chalk. It could be the chalk has a bit more oil in it than school chalk. You put your hair strand between the pad and the metal pan that holds the chalk. I'm worried that after a few uses and the chalk starts wearing away, your hair will need to be pulled over the sharp metal pan edges. Will that hurt the hair shaft? Not sure.It did apply easily and covered the hair that I pulled through the disk. It did transfer a bit onto my shirt. It washed out easily. I'm worried that if you do a whole head of color that your clothing will get a lot of color transfer. I did not try to cover the colored hair with hairspray to see if that would make it last longer, but I think it may work.

Follow the instructions
I love how small and portable this is. The hair chalk is the perfect size for kids to use it themselves, and it's easy to open and apply. However, you do need to follow the directions. Wet or dampen the hair, apply the chalk, and use a hairdryer to set it. If you don't, the color is fainter and doesn't stay long. That said, the color is still vibrant and visible even if you apply it to dry hair and don't set the color. It washes out well, and is fun and easy to use.

Hard to use.
I really wanted to like these so its a bummer to have had the experience we did with them. The problem we had was the sponges kept coming out when pulling it through the hair. The sponges are only secured with a tiny little spot of glue that lets go almost as soon as you start to pull it down the hair strand. We had to go over the hair strands several times to achieve the results. Every single sponge came detached and came out of the puller while using it. By the time we were done we were frustrated. The color lasts all day with no issues. The next issue came when it was time to wash it out.. about 60% of the color came out after several washings. But the 40% remains in the hair . My little girl is not to pleased with having color left in her hair for several days. Unfortunately I would not get this product again and will stick to wax's that wash out in 1 day.
