Updated 6/2017 If you work from home and want a good setup using comfortable gaming headset, get these...
Very nice. Let me start off by saying this: I did have a buzzing noise when I first used this phone, but that was as the phone company was setting up my line and having me test it. As soon as they connected the grounding wires to the boxes (outside), the buzzing noise went away. I work from home, so it was important for me to have a good and easy to use phone with a few features. The speaker phone is crystal clear, the handset is as well. I am using a headset through an rj9 adapter so I can use my Logitech gaming headset (much more comfortable than the standard call center style headset), but this phone does have a 2.5 mm port for headsets as well. I am only using one line at the moment, so line 2 stays lit up saying it's "not in use or not connected". Not really an issue; it doesn't distract me or anything. The caller id screen lights up so bright that I don't really mind that the keys are not back lit. I'll be buying a few more of these phones as backup in the near future. Update 2017 About a year ago, I found the Headset Buddy Female RJ9/RJ22 to Male 2.5mm Headset Adapter (RJ9-PH25) and have been using my Logitech G430 Surround Sound Gaming Headset with Dolby 7.1 Technology headset. It actually works better than any setup I've had, and the range of sound gives me higher highs and lower lows than a previous setup that included a Jabra amplifier. I no longer use the amplifier and have better control over the volume of my calls (both microphone and speakers). Update 6/2017 Yeah, still 5 stars. I have no complaints about this phone. When the power goes out, the screen doesn't work anymore, but the phone does still work. If you work from home, this is the setup I had that worked so well... AT&T ML17929 2-Line Corded Telephone, Black Logitech G430 Surround Sound Gaming Headset with Dolby 7.1 Technology (don't get the USB version, although this comes with a USB adapter for computer use) Headset Buddy: Female RJ9/RJ22 to Male 2.5mm Headset Adapter (01-RJ9-PH25) VONOTO 3.5mm to RJ9 Audio Adapter Cable - 3.5mm audio female socket to RJ9 Modular Plug Adapter Cable for connecting your own Analog Headphone to chat With this setup, you won't even need the amplifiers that some of those companies send, customers won't be asking you to repeat yourself and you won't have issues hearing them, and you'll be using a very comfortable headset that's far better than any of the call center headsets out there.

Love it.
Just bought this for my home office. And i'm thrilled. It took me a lot longer than it should have to finally find what I was looking for, both for a phone, and for phone service. I tried Magic Jack and Skype. The issues I had with those are that it relies on your computer, and can be slow, crash or not sound right. I needed something independent of my computer. Cell phone service is fine, if you are willing to spend a lot of money up front, which I can't do. I have heard people tell me that I sound far away, or was breaking up. I needed something with more stability. So I got Time Warner Digital Service, independent of my computer, after having a hard time trying to find a land line company. Turns out, many went under, or simply stopped the service, because everything is digital today. I bought a dialer with headset, and loved the concept. But the phone had many problems, including no dial tone, no ringer, and the inability to receive calls, or make them to automated systems. Turns out it wasn't compatible with digital service. I got so annoyed, I did something I never do. I found the best product I could afford, and payed extra for rush delivery. I usually consider rush delivery a waste of money, but I really needed a phone, because my cell is malfunctioning, and if there's an emergency, I hate the idea of being so vulnerable, not having a phone. This phone is as clear as day, works with my digital service, has two lines for possible future growth, speakerphone and headset, large keys and volume control. Now clients will have no trouble hearing me. I love this phone so far.

Great Value for a Decent Phone
I'll give the summary line first: If you're willing to forego a few features, this is a decent phone at a great price. We have purchased two of these phones for our home office. Over the years we have had several other corded 2-line phones of various brands; comparing voice quality, the AT&T phone is at par with all of our previous phones. Its features work as expected, and it has reasonably sturdy construction. Note that our phones do not have the voicemail option, and we have never tried using headsets. Feature limitations have been discussed at length by other reviewers, so I will not go into much detail here. My biggest gripe is that the phone does not have battery backup, so after a power failure a few settings have to be reprogrammed. And yes, it would be nice if the display was larger and had a few more lines of text. But given the amazingly low price of this phone I can understand why these features were not included. Some reviewers complained about the large size of the buttons, but I actually like them! I would purchase this phone again, and I can recommend it to others.

Overall a nice phone except....
I purchased this phone for my home office replacing a much older 2 line AT&T phone. I have 2 issues with this phone. The first issue is for some reason, when someone is using one of the phones in another part of my home, the light showing that the line is in use does not always light up. It lights up for some phones, but not all of the phones. I can't seem to figure out why. This did not and does not happen on my older phone. It detected other phone using the line 100% of the time. I have decided I can live with that as there are only two of us in the house. My second issue is the headset jack which is used for a hands free headset. Not all phones have this and it is a MAJOR reason why I selected this phone. The headset jack is temperamental. It works fine is some positions, but if you swivel the wire jack while talking, everything goes out. You can swivel it back and it works again, but it is a pain. First thing most would say it the problem is with the headset. The headset is brand new plus I have an older headset. Both do exactly the same thing. I tried returning it and had Amazon send another phone. It does exactly, exactly the same thing. I even went to Best Buy and bought (paid more) the same model thinking that maybe Amazon got a bad shipment of phones. Same exact problem, so I returned that one. I am trying to live with it as I do like the phone. The numbers are large, the screen is clear and the unit tilts nicely on my desk. Also worth noting, the speakerphone feature is exceptionally clear! I am considering calling AT&T about the headset jack as it does bother me.

Perfection beyond imagination ~~
Words don't even justify how amazing this product is. It doesn't matter if you want to use this as a home phone, or for your home office, or for your business, it is exactly what you need. First off, this phone just looks beautiful. Display is nice and it doesn't use batteries, rather it plugs into the wall. The speed dial function is very nice as well. It has a 2.5 millimeter headphone jack -- but I decided personally to go ahead and buy the Sennheiser OfficeRunner and use it with this product. Very nice combination. I work at home taking customer support calls, and this combination is absolutely amazing. The phone has adjustable sound levels, the caller history is very easy to use and super helpful, everything about this product is just perfect, and I am so happy with this purchase. Personally, I was having such a hard time trying to find a phone that would work for my customer support related job, and I saw some videos on YouTube of this, and I just decided to take a gamble. Wow, did I hit the jackpot. To anyone on the fence, just get this product. There is literally only one con, and it's very minor. The handset itself is a bit cheep feeling, and when you actually talk through it, what you say kind of echoes into your ear for some reason, almost like some type of a feedback. But, considering I don't use the handset t all (as I use the OfficeRunner with this corded phone) -- it's not something I have to deal with. I would still recommend this product to literally anyone shopping for a corded phone, regardless of what you're going to use it for. This literally feels like a professional 500$ phone you'd see in retail stores, ext. Enjoy!

Caller-ID issue and lcd screen issue 05/2014
I just received this item last week, and other than a Caller-ID issue I am happy with it thus far. It's bigger than it appears to be in pictures, the oval key-pad buttons are quite large (bigger than a nickel, smaller than a quarter), and the snap-on base for desk-top use holds the base at about a 45-degree angle for easy viewing of the LCD display and dialing (but this also makes the telephone appear to take up far more space on a desk than it actually does, and obscures the area immediately behind the telephone.) Pro's: - easy to program; - very clear, crisp sound on both speaker and hand-set; - very clear, well back-lit and easy-to-read LCD display. Con's: - no Caller-ID light to indicate calls received; - in-coming calls fail to display in "New Calls" (the default LCD display) and only display in "Call History", meaning I have to open menu, then call history, and then each specific line number to see if I've missed any calls. I'm pleased with most aspects of this telephone, but the jury is still out on the Caller-ID issue and hence whether or not it will be returned. ****** Update April 26, 2014: After 15 months of home use, the LCD screen on this telephone is starting to degrade, losing thread-like horizontal lines of display (as has happened on every other AT&T phone with an LCD display I've purchased in the past few years.) If it follows the pattern of my other AT&T phones, within months the LCD display will degrade to the point it will become unreadable. For that reason I'm lowering my four-star rating to two stars, and I would not recommend this telephone. ******* Update May 19, 2014: I was overly optimistic about how fast the LCD screen would degrade; in little more than three weeks since my previous update, the LCD screen has degraded to the point that two out of the three lines displayed are almost unreadable. Therefore I am changing my rating to one star from the prior two stars.
