Final Fantasy XV - The Complete Official Guide - Collector's Edition

Bought the book mostly for the maps as a last resort aid to go along with the game and with such a large area to explore I am already glad that I did as it details everything you need to know in regard to things i have otherwise easily missed. Overall the layout is well recieved and the format clear and easy to understand and like any guide it also provides a clear walkthrough with additional information on party traits and a bestiary as well as information on the characters skills and developments, sidequests and inventory (I have yet to read through these areas, however flipping through it appears to be easy to read and provide details on party setups and locations like any other ff guide would).

I am not one for game guides, however I wanted to pick this one up as Final Fantasy games have many hidden items and quests. Although the game starts off pretty easy to find everything, once you get into it it opens up drastically and there are lots of things to miss. This guide is flawless, covering everything from sidequests, boss strategies & maps to tips and tricks to getting 100% completion. The book is stunningly beautiful I can't say enough about the presentation. This guide has totally changed my mind of using guides in games just to find every nook and cranny. I picked up another copy to keep sealed just for my collection.

I have become quite the collector with these types of books and this one is no different form the amazing works form the other Final Fantasy games. Beautiful art work with real good writing and help from it.

It's worth mentioning that the main quests in FFXV are quite linear and straight forward so this guide doesn't necessarily serve the purpose used for classic FF games for progression or boss strategies. What it is great for is completing all the side quests as there are so many and they're often difficult to find without assistance given the size of the map. The guide is laid out well with tabs on the side for easily finding the section you're looking for and the explanations are generally map based so you can see exactly where something or someone is located.

I'm reviewing the standard edition guide. I think the question everyone asks is: "Why should I buy a strategy guide when I can find one free on the web?" That's a good question and I think I can give you the answer. This is the official guide (as the title says) and it's one that Square-Enix have provided with a short but very interesting pre-face. The message essentially says that Square-Enix wanted to create a game whereby friends, loyalty and journeying was the main theme. The point being: there is some history and little tid-bits that you otherwise wouldn't get with a user-made strategy guide. The guide is colourful and well presented, with lots of artwork of Noctis and co. I particularly like the fact that they've managed to capture so much information. With side-quests, the game is said to last upwards of 60 hours. I don't doubt that figure at all. I was 1 hour in and at the very beginning of the book doing my first side quest before I realized just how little i'd done. The previous point is also why I have to rate 4/5; the guide will often give you a side-quest and say: "Turn to page x" were x is a page that's towards the middle/end of the book. It's not a huge problem and for some, it might not be an issue whatsoever, but I just find that if you're like me and you want to do the side-quests, you'll find yourself jumping between the back and front of the book, to the point where you'll need two bookmarks! All in all, it's a great guide and worth the money. It has all the information you need, plus information on beasts that you'll find in the wild, visual overviews of the map, fishing etc It has it all. And for the long-term FF fans, you'll be happy to turn onto a random page in the guide and see pictures/illustrations of Cid (yes, he's here folks! Cid is always here), Iron Giant and the cactuars which have bugged me since FFX where I had to do a side-quest involving them... There is a lot to see AND read in this guide. Anyway, as you can see, I recommend it. The guys at Piggyback have done what they do best.

I find that this game is highly underappreciated. I have yet to complete the game and also feel that this guide could have had more in it. Not including the DLC that I have yet to try and the multiplayer... Why does everything need multiplayer?! I found this to be the perfect help and assistance in understanding the game's base premise and methods of play. It gives a clear guide to the many things that can be done and only a few stats among weapons and enemies have been altered to date; meaning that at least 96% of this guide is still relevant!

This is an excellent and well produced book that will definitely enhance the FF experience. To be honest I completed the game without opening it but for me it came into use afterwards when I wanted more info about the other dungeons/quests and weaponry. It was worth it just to show me the right way to go at one place in Costlemark Tower - I could still be going round in circles without it. Sometimes it’s easier to have the information in front of you in a book than searching YouTube etc and although there is the odd omission (one of the fishing spots for example) and obviously new updates are not covered it is still a worthwhile investment for fans to get the most out of the game.

EXCELLENT GUIDE! Quality is superior, came wrapped in plastic, LOVE that new book smell! Also to those of you giving the guide one star for petty or imagined issues, blame UPS for tossing your package for the crushed corners but in no way does that changes the content(also its backed by Amazon so if for some reason your guide is damaged they will send you a new one & you can return the one that was damaged- instead of giving the guide a poor rating). For the guy giving it ONE star for the price? seriously you must not have prime, because its almost half the retail price & I have paid triple for far less of a guide( Maybe don't spend money on games 7 guides if you are that broke?). For those giving one star because its missing content that was added after the guide was published, PIGGYBACK(who published the guide) has those updates & more available for FREE in the form of a pdf download on their website & as well as a 43 pg sample, (I'll include the link for those that can't find it on Piggyback.com) I think its pretty awesome they took the time to do that, because they didn't have to. This guide is a must have , especially for those playing day one, the map in the CE is great, shows even the gathering nodes, hidden items, treasures, etc You will miss a lot of those items without the guide, because there are easy to miss when you are just running around. GET THIS GUIDE! The content, the maps, the art, the walk-throughs, Everything you need without risking a virus trying to google it from pages that have just copied and pasted from other sites. Also I would highly recommend watching "Kingsglaive" before playing the game or asap. It is available to rent or buy on Amazon Video as well. I believe the deluxe physical bundle that just went up for sale the day after launch has the movie with it. Par ce commentaire je ne jugerai pas tellement de l'article qui est tout à fait conforme à ce que j'attendais (si ce n'est que des lise à jour du guide sorti en PDF le rende caduque sur certaines choses), mais plutôt sur ma surprise en constatant que malgré le fait que je l'ai commandé en version française, ma commande a été modifiée et Amazon m'a envoyé la version anglaise...que j'avais déjà commandé sur le site anglais en attendant ma VF... Du coup je ne comprend pas, j'avais vu le changement de descriptif mais pensant que c'était juste en attendant la réédition de la VF je ne m'en suis pas inquiété. Et au final c'est bien la version anglaise qui m'a été envoyée sans me demander si ça m'intéressait toujours... En attendant de me décider à le renvoyer ou non (pas déballé du coup) j'aimerai bien avoir des explication de la part d'Amazon ?< Merci !

Amazing Must buy

La guía está en un bonito formato y cubre la mayoría de los sidequests del juego. Únicamente se quedan fuera las cosas que han salido después como el Carnival. Tiene muchas fotos con indicaciones de los lugares en cuestión en cada caso. La recomiendo a todo aquel que quiera no perderse nada del juego.

So I dont normally buy Game Guides let alone Hard Cover versions however I had a friend purchase this one and he ranted and raved about how great it was. I went ahead and bit the bullet and made the purchase and I am glad I did. This guide is gorgeous. The paper quality is to notch. The information and detail are excellent and easy to find thanks to a nice Index at the back of the guide. The fold map is also very nice! This is definitely a must buy for any Final Fantasy fan especially those that are enjoying the game.
