Hellblazer TP Vol 03 The Fear Machine New Ed (John Constantine, Hellblazer) Paperback – 3 July 2012

Dark. Very dark. But an amazing story. Extremely graphic, and very gruesome. John Constantine is an exceptional read and I recommend reading all the hell blazer novels.

Second time around (first read the Hellblazer series back in the 1980s in monthly comic form), I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this collection. The artwork feels somewhat clumsy in places, but the storyline - which sees JC taking refuge with a bunch of a new-age travellers - still resonates. It's interesting, too, how much of the social commentary remains true. The theme of female emancipation / liberation certainly rings big bells...This young(ish) version of Constantine is more vulnerable and less hard-bitten than he's written in later years. The dialogue is no less entertaining, mind, and the series has kept its feeling of freshness, of daring. For a 'horror comic', it's remarkably daring in its blunt appraisal of the human condition.Hellblazer can be challenging. It features counter-culture ideals, sexual expressiveness, recreational substances, a cast of intriguing supporting characters who drift in and out, and a stack of bad guys (usually but not always demons. The Snob is no good guy, for instance). It's self-referential, DC-universe referential, occult literature referential and deliberately obscure.This self-contained story is reasonably easy to get to grips with, but even then if you're unfamiliar with the series then some of the back-story will be opaque.7/10

Bought this for my son he was very pleased with it. He is starting to collect the books, arrived in time for his birthday.

It makes you think about the world we live in.

Once again I have enjoyed this story liking forward reading more about John Constantine in the next book very good read

With the current political climate, this volume raises an interesting issue of who is exploiting our fears and why, couched in metaphors of new gods.

An important storyline in the hellblazer continuity, I had a few pages where inkbleeding was a bit of an issue but over the quality was decent.Story 5/5Art 5/5Only thing letting it down is some poor quality on a few pages

Historia recomendable que por desgracia sufre del problema que veo en casi cualquier tpb pasta suave en inglés que he comprado por este medio. Su primera y última página se despega del resto del cómic dando la impresión de que se va a deshojar. Tengo la impresión de que esto ocurre ya que por el tipo de portada esta se llega a abrir un poco más debido a la rigidez de la misma y no se curva como el resto de las hojas de interiores, la primera y última hoja al estar pegadas a la pasta llegan a ser arrastradas con esta haciendo que se abra de más pero al mismo tiempo evitando que se deshoje, he visto que esto se puede evitar con un empastado como los del título Descender de Jeff Lemire que está publicando editorial océano en mi país haciendo que la pasta se doble un poco más arriba del lomo evitando que se abra de más, claro habría que ver la manera de que así no se pierds el contenido que se ubica en la parte central del cómic sobre todo en las viñetas que abarcan 2 páginas y que las portadas no se dañen por ese tipo de doblez.

John Constantine is such an amazing character to read. The plot is amazing, the art style is unique, and the setting is dynamic. I highly recommend picking this comic book up!

This book was great i am not as great at the written word as the aurthor of this fine graphic novel,so if you want to be a grammar nazi or bitch about my spelling go away but the book rocks .I have been working my way the hellblazer since I heard it would be a tv series ( i am a late comer to the books so sue me )and I have say they keep getting better and better. Can't wait to see what the next chapter brings

Il volume e' arrivato in ottime condizioni, senza alcun danno, anche piu' velocemente di quanto preventivato. Consigliato a tutti gli appassionati.

i have to tell that within hellblazer series this is the first time i meet a story arc that goes over 9 issues , and the journey totally worth it, in some parts i was full of fear and dread and keep in mind its just a comic book! I would say this is best By Jamie delano !🙏
