Another great read
Honestly after the frist book I was thinking the 2nd would be like so many others and go down hill. But I am happy to say it didn't. A great easy to read box with a gamer system that still doesn't overload you with info.

Entertaining Sequel
Volume 2 picks up where we left off in volume 1, with our nameless mc finding her way out of the Lower Stratum, AKA the den of all the high level monsters, to the relatively easier to deal with level of the labyrinth, the Middle Stratum. The only downside here though? It’s a part of the labyrinth that’s full of one of her greatest weaknesses: Fire. The Middle Stratum is home to countless fire-based enemies, where the very surroundings are so hot that it constantly lowers her HP (health). With magma everywhere, and her thread utterly useless, our spunky spider has to figure out a way not only to survive in an area basically designed to kill her, but also grow strong enough to defend herself and level up further. Believe it or not, it turns out that won’t be so hard for her after all. After a few close calls with new enemies, she gros stronger than she ever thought she would in the Middle Stratum, and starts to get full of herself. Now this does make for some entertaining inner monologues, but it does take a little of the tension from the first volume away. Before, I was worried how she’d get out of the endless sticky situations she found herself in, and while it’s still wild to her come out on top against some of the foes she beats, it’s not the same. It’s not a bad thing though.Seeing her progression over the course of the book is so awesome! I love seeing her get so strong after struggling for so long. And getting to see what happens next for the other reincarnations is interesting too. I still prefer the story following our spider, but the development outside the labyrinth has gotten really interesting. THere are so many things working behind the scenes that’s only hinted at, and the setup for things to come was great. We learn more about the world at large, the forces at work, and even get a devastating reveal. I’m looking forward to the next one.

A continuation from the first book
I’m a spider, so what? Is a delightful series. This review is for the second book and while it is a very fun book, the reality of this series is you cannot read it out of order. Sometimes books will try to backfill and while this one does, it is insufficient for a reader who hasn’t had a chance to get familiar with the world and characters. Worse yet, the first book has an entirely different tone that shifts for book two. These tonal shifts are important to the overall story, so if you have not read book one yet, go back and read it.While book one acts as a backfill and introduction to the characters, book two see’s their paths and arcs start to take shape. While important, this change means the book is not insignificantly different from the first. Where as the first saw our spider struggling with every move, this book sees our spider starting to shape her future. The change is great, but also makes for a significantly different reading experience. While reading the first you actually wanted to know how she might get out of a situation, but the sense of danger changes entirely with the second book. Another shocking change with this book is the mysteries start to mount, while also giving glimpses of a wider plot.Character development continues too, including some dynamic changes. You may like the characters better in the first book, but the changes here are exchanging personality for plot development and the plot is a good hook. The first book also lacked any strong sense of drama, but book two fixes that in a big way. It is pretty impossible to avoid that this book is a set up for further books in the series, so if you read book 1 and are thinking about book 2, you should prepare yourself for book three. Most of what is worth saying about this series can be found in the book one reviews, this truly is a continuation and like the first book, is over all too quickly. These books are fun and if you enjoyed the first book you will probably enjoy this one, but if you did not enjoy the first book, the second book is not going to make any huge changes.

Great series!
You wouldn't expect a series about a spider power leveling through a dungeon to be that good but this is a very fun read. In the first volume I wasn't that interested in the human side of the story but the author is using it to show off parts of the setting that the spider can't experience and it's growing on me.
