Spokes are prepped. Good.I've built probably hundreds of wheels using this stuff. It always works as it should.It's used so you can true the wheels later, after months or even years of riding in all types of weather. Your spokes and nipples won't be frozen together. Sort of like anti-seize, but doesn't get all over everything you'll ever touch for the next 6 hours.

Having two different colors is helpful for keeping organized with spokes that have minimal length differences.

I keep several spokes in my "repair kit" as, from time to time, spokes do need replacement. It's always been difficult to keep the spares separated by "right side" and "left side." Also, just-before-use application of spoke prep has always been a hassle. This kit solves the problem neatly. FWIW, I penned a "R" or "L" on each bottle's label so it's easy to keep straight which color is for the short spokes and which color is the long spokes. This is a very handy addition to my repair kit. A thought in passing: Not using spoke prep is a mistake. Between the increased ease of setting tension correctly and eliminating twist-up, spoke prep is an absolute necessity.

These are nice ‘anti-seize’ lubricants in the perfect size containers!
