After only three months or so, this male-to-male HDMI adapter got bent so badly that it lost a lost of throughput and started causing the screen to go black while playing games when there was a lot of action on screen, especially when looking at water. I had bought this to connect a long in-wall cable to a signal enhancer because of the long distance between my PC and monitor. At some point, this piece got jammed between other wires enough that it crooked one of the connectors, making it slightly bent. It was not very visible and it took me longer to diagnose the problem than it should have.In short, this adapter is far less durable than it should be. It broke more easily than a mere cable would have, despite having the appearance of a hard, sturdy form. Big disappointment.

So I purchased the new Raspberry Pi 4 and found I need a micro HDMI adapter which led to needing a HDMI to VGA adapter. The VGA adapter had a female jack so now I need a 6 foot male-male cable. Ugh. Now all is well except now I have this 6 foot cable taking up space and all I need is 3 inches to make this connection. This adapter is a perfect fit. I can use my 6 foot male-male cable somewhere else. Also I could not find these adapters in any big box store.

I connected this to a BeagleBone Black SBC. I didn't have any picture at all. I started researching and found some cheap HDMI cables don't have a ground connection. The outer shield of the connector. Turns out the adapter does NOT have a ground connection either. I soldered a small wire from one end to the other...Worked fine.If the display and the device that this adaptor share a ground it will work fine, like a USB cable also being used.

Bought this for the Raspberry Pi 4, and I didn't realize the 1080p description. I tested on my 1440p 60Hz monitor, and it worked as expected, and it wasn't until I came back to the item to write the review that I realized that this was described as a 1080p adapter. Price is good, you get 2 of them, although if you are using both of them on the Pi at the same time, they are a bit too wide to be fitted side-by-side.

I have 2 hdmi sources, a firestick on extension cord and computer, going into one hdmi click button switch, and so got this to put an identical hdmi switch off the back, to then connect to computer monitor and a video headset. 2 source into switch, single ports of both switches connected by this adapter, then 2 output. this is exactly what I needed.

Unfortunately the item is quite delicate. The first time I used it it fit and worked, however it is not strong enough to handle normal use and unless you are very careful every time you are around this the item can get pulled at an angle - and it isn't strong enough to handle that. Always remember if you use it to treat it very gingerly..

So I have this connected to my sony a5100 and the camera attached to a tripod. this is slightly weighing down the adapter, but I think after some weeks or months of this its going to bend out of its usefulness. I'm not happy with this and I think I'm going to go for a refund.

One worked and the other defective. While the cost is fairly minimal still surprised that there is no ability to return defective item for replacement. Have no choice but to try and request a charge back on my credit card for the defective item. Surprised that Amazon permits sale of defective items that cannot be returned. There is no indication on the Amazon web site that the item is being sold "as is" and cannot be replaced even if defective.
