Brightens the room and makes it look really nice!
So far it looks great. Had my electrician put it in, it's working great! Really bright and nice. Makes my bathroom look better honestly. The fan sounds quiet but powerful!

Quiet, Effective, and Aesthetic Fan for Bathroom Remodel
We recently renovated our bathroom and swapped out the old, broken exhaust fan for this one, and it’s been a perfect upgrade! The sleek, modern design fits beautifully with our new bathroom aesthetic—clean and unobtrusive, just what we were looking for. The fan is super quiet, which was a huge bonus. It’s much quieter than our old one, yet it clears the moisture from the air quickly and effectively. Even after hot showers, the bathroom stays fresh and dry in no time. After 2 months of use, it appears durable. The size was exactly as advertised, which made it a perfect fit for our project. It was a breeze to install—everything lined up and worked smoothly, so no issues there. Overall, I’m really impressed with this fan. It’s quiet, efficient, easy to install, and the size was spot-on for our space. If you’re upgrading your bathroom exhaust, I’d highly recommend this one!

Broan retrofit install instructions are not helpful for wiring at all. Will need Youtube to assist.
Fan is much quieter than the old one that was there. The product itself is great. Light is not quite as warm, much cooler than I expected, but still fine. My biggest complaint with this product is the instructions--really the lack of instructions. If you are building a new house, you're set. If you are doing a retrofit... good luck. The instructional video for this room side fan shows install for new construction only. And no Broan videos show any wiring whatsoever. For this particular model, there is not a specific video on YouTube that shows someone installing it if you are using the key words of the make and model. I found a video on "how to wire a bathroom fan/light fixture for a 1 or 2 switch electrical circuit" that happened to be the exact room side broan fan/light I had and was able to use that for a guide rather than the printed instructions for wiring. After that, it was easy peasy to plug in the fan, install the grille, and clip on the light. Without that random video that explained the wiring more clearly (and a bit of chatgpt), I would not have had the confidence to fully install it myself. Broan needs to update videos to show a retrofit install, which I'm guessing is the most common reason people buy this fan. It looks much better than the old broan (678 model I think) that I replaced and hopefully will last the purported 50,000 hours. Overall pleased, but instructions are lacking.

Brighten Up & Ventilate with the Broan-NuTone 678 - A 5-Star Upgrade!
I recently installed the Broan-NuTone 678 Ventilation Fan and Light Combo in my bathroom, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! This unit is powerful and efficient, with the fan doing a great job at clearing out humidity at 50 CFM—perfect for a small to medium bathroom. The light is bright and distributes evenly, making the space feel well-lit and inviting. Installation was straightforward, and it fits perfectly in my existing space. Plus, it runs quietly, which is a nice bonus. Overall, this fan and light combo is a fantastic value for anyone looking to improve ventilation and lighting in their bathroom! Highly recommended!

Fan works very well
This fan moves a lot of air for the noise level. The light looks sleek and modern. The large open intake on the side reduces the chance of dust clogging it up over time. We really love how this fan looks and performs. Installation isn’t plug and play obviously but that’s expected of any fan. I just figured I should mention it so people don’t under estimate the amount of labor involved in replacing a bathroom fan.

I'm converting a closet into a bath as an addition to a 1½ bathroom. I shopped around for an exhaust fan and was skeptical about buying the Broan 678 Ventilation Fan and Light Combination, 50 CFM and 2.5-Sones due to the many comments here about rattling-vibration noise. But because of the low price I decided to give it a try. I received and after some minor adjustments, got it installed and it works beautifully. I also added a 4.5 watts LED light, which makes it appear more expensive. It's also quieter than the one installed by the 1½ bathroom, so I'm purchasing another one. Here are some suggestions: Rattling noise is created when components vibrate against each other. An easy fix (it worked in my case) is to get a tube of caulk (I used clear instead of white) and caulk every area where there's a joint, even at the outlet where the duct with the flapper mounts to the fan. Just take your time and make sure to get every single joint. When mounting fan to a joist, use screws instead of nails. Nails can begin to back off due to fan's vibration. Also, place some type of insulation between the joist and the mounting plate of the fan to dampen vibration. I used a piece of ¼" thick rubber. After the fan is mounted, use a can of foam insulation and spray the foam around where the fan casing meets the ceiling. As the foam expands and hardens, it will provide additional support to the fan, making it more stable. As an added bonus, you may also prevent your AC from escaping around the fan. When installing the light housing, make sure the nut that support the housing is tight. Don't use just the nut to get the light housing tight against the fan housing, instead push the housing with one hand while tightening the nut. By pushing with your hands, you'll feel whether or not the housing is well seated. Finally, tie the electrical wires or tape them together and to the fan housing. Wires, it left loose will vibrate and may create noise. A vibration noise like a loose wire may not be enough to be bothersome, but add the many places an exhaust fan can vibrate and it can drive anyone nuts. However, with some preventing measurements, this fan will sound and look good without breaking your wallet (or purse for that matter). Note: I could give it a four start due those loose joints issues, but with such a low price and the easy fix to those issues, these exhaust fan is a great product.

Looks nice but slightly noisy
The fan looks modern and the LED light is nice and bright. Installation was fine and it works as expected, but it is a bit noisier than I anticipated. Overall decent, just wish it were quieter.

Venting functions as intented ; installation was relatively easy ( most of the problem is drilling the hole to the outside and running the 4" tube) Installed in basement washroom that's underneath a room. you can definitely hear a very faint hum from the bedroom if you listen real closely but not enough to disturb sleep. the "in bathroom" noise is on par with our other nu-tone if only a little bit louder. The Ive installed a 5000k 100w equivalent bulb and it definitely is not enough to light up the whole room, even as it is installed in the middle of the room. so a vanity light and a shower light IS REQUIRED.

This was a replacement for a similar fan and heater lamp combo. Didn't need the heat lamp on the old one but I liked the light as it brightened up the rest of the room. And my old fan sounded like an airplane taking off so this one is a godsend. Its loud enough so that I can hear it running, but not so loud its an annoyance. Excellent purchase!

We ordered this fan/light combo to replace an existing fan that had stopped working. When we were unable to find a new fan in any of the home improvement centres, we found this one. The fan was slightly different ( 50 CFM verses the existing 75 CFM unit). The new unit took less than 20 minutes to install as everything connected in the right places.
