York 7ft Olympic Chrome Bar

I agree with the previous reviewer that this is a good solid bar - advertised as a training bar by York. This is not a 20kg bar though weighs in at around 16-17kg. Works well though doesn't have the finish of the better bars. The sleeves are not a smooth finish but have a threaded appearance which isn't clear form the picture, keeps the weights pretty secure though. Bar diameter is 30mm. If you are looking to get some experience with olympic lifts and not go mad, there is probably not much point in paying any more.

A good quality 7' Olympic bar for a home gym. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is due to the tiny 'threading' around the sleeves of the bar to keep the plates secure - makes taking plates on and off noisy! Otherwise, a very solid, well made bar.

Quality value for money bar, only gripe is the ridged edges are scraping the coating off my weights. Cheap though and dont change them much.

I only had this for a week when one on the ends became unscrewed from the main bar. There was no obvious way to repair it. A 7ft 20kg bar is not the easiest package to return. I sent it to the supplier (Eastern Sports) who, with some prompting, refunded me the full cost of the bar and postage.My recommendation is not to buy this bar or indeed any heavy gym equipment through Amazon. You are better served by visiting a shop where the returns policy is altogether easier.

I have used this bar allot since I bought it a few months ago! I have only needed to tighten it once and it hasn't bent or broken etc. the only thing is that you cannot get it wet or leave it outside as it will pit with rust straight away. Apart from that it is a bargain for what it is.

This bar is much thicker than the typical mens 20kg bar, which makes it not ideal for olympic lifts and it has very little to no spin but overall a great bar for the price just much more suited towards squats and other strength lifts.

I have used this bar for some time now with no problems, however the other day I wanted to double check the weight of it and discovered it is only 15kg instead of the advertised 20kg (I am 100% sure my scales are accurate). To anyone who lifts weights i'm sure you'd agree that this is really poor. Don't really know what to do about it now though as it was some time ago..
