Casio Men's G-Shock MTGM900DA-8CR Tough Solar Atomic Stainless Steel Sport Watch, Silver, MTGM900DA-8CR

I had my eye on this one after I regrettably sold my similarly designed G510 last year. I owned that watch for nearly 20 years and it never missed a beat. Apparently this MTG has also been in production for 20 years but had a refresh with a newer module about 7 years ago. It's a fairly chunky watch at 46mm across and 16mm thick but these stainless steel bracelet versions wear small and are so comfortable on wrist. Some great features with multiband 6 and tough solar plus a clean display with large numbers and the usual stopwatch, timer alarms etc. The links between the case and bracelet look a bit mismatched in photos but are okay in the flesh. Most people like the squares but for me this is much better watch with the same features as a gw5610 and cheaper as well.One bad point. This model doesn't appear to have ever been released in the UK so Amazon US was the only option. For some reason budget Gshocks in the US come in flimsy cardboard boxes and it was shipped in a plastic bag for the 4000 mile trip. Unsurprisingly it arrived a bit battered but better than others I've had. Fortunately it's a gshock so can withstand abuse but I would be hesitant to order a conventional watch from the US.Overall this is a great digital watch that comes highly recommended. I'm not sure how much longer these will be produced so grab one while you can.

This meets my need for a every day watchI like to wear my watch all day and night, so it needs to be well built and robust.Setup is easy, just set city and place on window to get full charge and it will set time automatically over night.Positive LED display easy to read even without my glasses.After be a day I set the auto light. Takes no time to get the hang of reading the display without the auto light coming on and to come on in the dark when you bring you arm all the way up to your face.I plan on treating my self to getting a top of the range G-Shock in a year or two, I hope to have this as my Evey day watch until then and will probably still continue to use it after I get my upgradeStraps a good size, I had to take off 3 links to fit.Only negative for me date is month date format. MM-DDButtons easy to use and are sunk in to case to protect it.Glass face also sunk int case for added protection.Don't think they are in production anymore, but being solor powered, this is an ideal second watch the will always be ready to use as long as it's keep in the light.

I am finicky when it comes to watches. This fits the bill nicely. The strap is big but had some links removed and fits comfortably now. The display is easy to read. The buttons are easy to operate which isn't always the case. The functions are listed in the main description but are very thorough. Lots of alarms including a snooze and hourly chime. The countdown timer is quite useful as is the dual time. The backlight bathes the entire display in a green for clarity. Add the fact that it's solar powered and updated by the nearest atomic clock and it's pretty much perfect. Looks good too.

Great watch solar powered so no need to change any battery, having read the other reviews about this particular watch should last at least 10/20 years

I bought this model to replace a very similar G-Shock with a resin strap. I wanted to upgrade to a stainless steel strap as the keeper on my old watch kept sliding off the end of the strap and I kept snagging the strap on my sleeves - very irritating! I also wanted the larger numerals of this model.It arrived very quickly, two weeks from the dare of ordering, not the six weeks earliest delivery estimate!It was extremely easy to set up and it has no trouble receiving the radio updates each night. I was slightly disappointed to find the bracelet links are folded steel, not solid. The Edifice model I have, the links are made from solid stainless steel. I had the strap adjusted at a local watch repairer, as the strap was too long and has very little adjustment without removing links. Now it fits, I'm very pleased with it and very pleased that the numerals are easier for me to read, being partially sighted. One star off because of the strap, but it's very worthy of a solid four stars!

Casio Men's G-Shock MTGM900DA-8CR Received 11/5/24.Added this to my ever increasing number of G-Shocks.This stood out due to its size and construction and this on offer after reading some excellent reviews.Tough Solar and atomic multi band 6 are essential criteria making this a set and forget daily beater.Fantastic.

Watch turned up with no display as the battery had completely run down flat. Tried leaving it under bright light for several hours, only to find the display had faded again within days. The watch had obviously been stored in its box for a very long time without light and the battery had run down to the point of no return. Don't waste your money on this product.

The watch does what it says it should do and it is great value for money. It is easy to use and it was very durable. But one thing wrong about the watch was that it came from the USA and I think it should have been able to get it in the UK. But I suppose to get the watch tax free it had to come from a country outside the UK.
