D.O.M. Risotto Spoon Made of Olive Wood 30 cm

Very nice olive wood spoon. It's obviously machine made and the central hole in the bowl is clearly drilled and not very smooth. I hope with time the wood becomes satiny smooth similar to my other spoons which are handmade. (Fair disclosure: a handmade spoon costs 10x what this does.so it better be polished satiny smooth.)The spoon arrived faster then predicted and very well wrapped so it safely went thru the letter flap. It's huge but that's ok especially for the end stage of making risotto when you have to beat the rice.For the price you cannot go wrong. I only gave it 4 stars because I still think it could have been finished a bit smoother.

I bought this as a gift for someone who makes lots of different risotto recipes. The first question I got was "why the hole?" which I still can't answer even with the aid of Google. Still, it's a nice piece of wood, carved into a spoon... with a hole. And it does get used I can confirm.

Looks pretty on the site ,but quite thick, not very delicate, but makes a defense against burglars

My risottos have improved slightly since getting this holey ‘giroriso’ spoon. Makes most sense for use with deeper pans.Good quality wood!

A spoon is a spoon but it's very pretty wood. I have kept oiling it to feed the wood. Nice handle which I think is important in a kitchen utensil. For a risotto lover it would make a nice gift
