Gets the job done - great bit
I bought this to make mancola boards. Wow - this thing is wicked. Hold on tight to your router and make sure the work piece is secured because this bit can send things flying. I have found it challenging to use in harder woods but through trial and error have found ways to do it without chipping the wood. Make sure you get some practice before using on your project. You will want a good ventilation system as this creates a lot of shavings and dust. Be sure not to force it and do NOT clamp your router to the work piece. This is high quality and worth the price.

It's good, but don't try to take a full cut all at once.
Like all the other Freud bits I've used; it's sharp, durable, and the geometry cuts cleanly. So far, I've only used it on soft maple, but that's a fairly rigorous test. But it is easy to take too big a cut with this bit, and the result is loss of control of whatever part of the system is free to move. At best this is startling, at worst it can be very destructive.Dan F.

No burn marks and cut wood like butter!
Super clean cut, zero burn marks at all @21000 RPMs aprox. Very, VERY sharp! Careful when handling, I cut myself when removing from the case.I use it for cutting board juice grooves.First time buying Freud bits, a little more expensive but when you use it you feel the difference vs other decent bits. It cut walnut 1/8" depth like butter. With other bits I spent long time trying to remove the burn marks into the channel (very hard and time consuming).I already bought other 3 Freud bits for different applications. I'm starting a small business and this is a smart investment. Good luck!

Quality control issues
The bit is very sharp but poorly machined at the apex. It cuts well, but at the apex where the 2 halves meet there were burrs or something to cause the bit to leave a large deep line in the groove. I bought this for a juice groove for a cutting board and it was absolutely horrible trying the sand the line out of end grain maple. The is the second bit I bought from Freud in the last year with this issue. The other bit was a 90 degree V groove bit that was also mis matched at the apex. That one wasnt even a true 90 degrees..more lile 88. Freud quality control is absent these days. Last time I go with Freud. Whiteside bits might cost a few bucks more but you definitely get what you pay for. Sorry Freud... there won't be a 3rd times a charm for me....you're out!

Good value
As always this is another quality product from Freud. This Italian company has been producing exceptional router bits and saw blades for as long as I can remember. This particular bit is great for decortive work. It won't let you down. However if you are doing repetitive work or heavy duty routing I would strongly recommend the same profile but with the 1/2 shank.

Well made Router Bit
This router bit is great. We use it on our variable speed 3 1/2 horse power router and it does the job well.Make sure to use it with a decent router to get the most out of it and you won't be disappointed
