I have an old VOLVO C30 which doesn't have a flashy 'crawly capable' screen (or any screen really), so this has added a lease of life to my car. Very well made and is comparable to my iPad Pro. No lag, touch sensitivity is very good and the resolution and colour saturation are fantastic. It's a little glossy )as is my iPad Pro), but I think that's just the 'thing' these days. The way I have it set up on my dash, it's easy to adjust for the sun light and the included mounting accessories allow for a very clean install. I have it paired with a bluetooth audio receiver, which allows for a wire-free install other than the single USB-C power lead. I would highly recommend it for CarPlay (haven't tried android auto, but I assume that is comparable to carplay in terms of performance).

Having used this device for Apple CarPlay in a commercial vehicle for over 6 months, I can testify to its flawless operation. It has been used in all climates, powered on with navigation for journeys all over Europe lasting over 20 hours, never skipping a beat or failing to connect to my phone. It takes a beating, getting carelessly thrown in my bag and has held up incredibly well, resisting any scratches to the screen. The fully laminated screen makes this a more expensive option that some other models, but having previously used one of those, I believe this is definitely worth the premium. The USB-C power can be supplied with any generic cable, negating the need to proprietary power leads seen in many other competitors. Highly recommended.

The mounts could look better, but other than that no complaints, great product! There is a very clear difference between this and its cheaper competitors. I had previously used a cheaper unit and I can say this one is much shaper more responsive and it the screen itself looks very good, it’s much thinner and you can feel the just how much better the quality is and it runs with no lag unlike the cheaper ones. There only issue I would say is the mount with the adhesive bit, but that is fixable. To anyone hesitant about spending more I would say it is worth it.

excellent option if you car already has bluetooth and you want to add wireless android auto or carplay without replacing existing head unit. effectively just a remote screen for auto/ carplay. phone connects to car and to this and away you go. works really well. connects reliably and screen looks and works well.

My car is old model and did not have Apple play or media interface. I relied on my phone on the time. I am happy to have this small upgrade and make my car intelligent. Now is much more convenient. I am happy with many mount options as well that I can fit with my windshield in less bulky attachment. Nice.

This is a quality bit of kit for all you people with cars that have no CarPlay or android auto. The screen quality is fantastic and it loads up really quickly. This really is a no brainier and yes there are cheaper models out there but they come no where near to this with its laminated 60 frames per second screen. It really is silky smooth in every way. You really won’t be disappointed

Ok, so an update to the review. Customer support reached out to me offered support. I applied a firmware update from the Minix website and just like that, the issue was resolved. Maybe I received one from an early batch with older firmware. Great customer service, and really pleased with the device now. Google assistant works fine on my phone, but when using the Minix, voice commands are always heard incorrectly. Shame as I like the unit itself. Returning.

Really impressed with the build quality of this. Simple to install, set up in minutes. Looks good and works very well. Not cheap but the best!

Installation was trivially easy in my 2016 4Runner and setup was similarly easy to connect with my Google Pixel 6 phone running Android 14 (and updated to Android 15). It feels and looks like a quality product and is good at what it does. The mounting hardware works well for me. On startup connection is usually fast and the first time, although it sometimes needs a couple of attempts (when connection fails the phone tells me that, yes it is connected to the Minix box). Streaming music via the Sirius/XM app works very well. After finding the problems described below I updated the firmware to the latest 0.0.9 version, which is easy if you have a thumb drive with a USB-C connector. So far: Excellent! EDIT The problems described below have been resolved. I posted a request for help on the vendor's support forum and received a speedy response (thanks Ken!). They arranged for the device to be collected by FedEx and returned to them in Hong Kong. The replacement device (pre-tested by the vendor and sent directly from Hong Kong) works correctly and I'm very pleased with it. Full marks for the device and the support. ---old review included for completeness - these problems have been resolved--- I did find a couple of problems, though - and you might find them significant: When I wake Google Assistant with a key phrase ("Hey Google") the expected "Hi! How can I help" window pops up, but there is no further response to voice commands. The window can also be displayed by touching an on-screen microphone button, but it's similarly non-responsive. So I can't (for example) get a response to "Hey Google, navigate to home"). The small window can be dismissed by touching elsewhere on the screen, or it will eventually timeout. I've contacted the vendor's support forum and they've been responsive - posting a video of this working fine on their Android phone (an old Note 9) but no resolution yet for me. When I connect my phone to another car with built-in Android Auto the same voice commands work correctly, so I'm thinking the problem is in the Minix box. Also: During navigation the voice turn prompts from Google Maps only come from the phone - not from the Minix box or from the car stereo which is connected by Bluetooth. Music on the stereo is correctly muted during the prompt. This also works correctly when the phone is connected to a different Android Auto device.

Fantástico dispositivo de carplay e android auto! Arrisco-me a dizer que talvez seja o melhor do mercado... O ecrã tem um alto brilho em que conseguimos ver sem problemas mesmo em dias de muito sol e ter 60 fps nota-se bem na fluidez ao tocar nas coisas do ecrã e nas trocas de imagem esta alta taxa de refrescamento do ecrã. Ter o duplo bluetooth e opção de receber apenas a imagem e som continuar ligado do telemóvel para o carro é excelente para poder continuar a usar os comandos do volante e controlos de voz! Totalmente recomendado

Vorneweg: Das Minix ist ein hervorragendes Gerät! Auf der Suche nach einem guten CarPlay-Display bin ich schließlich beim Minix gelandet: Sehr scharfes Display mit 1920 * 720 Pixel Auflösung, flüssige Bedienung.. aber das für mich entscheidende Kaufkriterium: Ein eigenes BenutzerForum der Firma Minix (einfach mal googeln) mit gepflegtem Support des Herstellers und kontinuierlichen Software-Updates inkl. neuer Funktionen für das Gerät (das Minix läuft "unter der Haube" mit Linux!, sodass unabhängige Updates für den Hersteller möglich sind). Eine Rückfahrkamera lässt sich problemlos anschließen, das Rückfahrsignal funktioniert. Den etwas höheren Preis im Vergleich zur Konkurrenz finde ich allem in allem mehr als gerechtfertigt :-)
