KOH-I-NOOR 48 Round Water Colour Paint

I am so pleased with these paints. The design is ingenious. Each layer slides out from the one above like a fan making it compact, portable and easy to use. It comes with a clear lid so everything is neatly and cleanly packed away when you've finished. It is also light and fits easily into a small bag or backpack. The paints are good quality with a wide variety of colours and although they look small they actually last for ages. Extremely good value for money.

Super convenient for travel, why more colours than expected. Easy to store super compact, good value for money.

What a quirky little set of watercolours although not the best quality you can get. Ideal for taking with you on travel or to paint outside. Colours are good but a bit powdery. May not suit everyone who likes to paint seriously with watercolours. All in all, a handy little set for convenience. Will use them occasionally but I like my watercolour tubes best. Happy enough with them and good price for what they are.

Certainly a new space-saving idea in paint boxes! A little tricky separating a couple of the layers but using washing-up gloves to give your hands a little ‘purchase’ when you unscrew them soon sorts that out - after the first separation they were easy to unscrew. There is a very wide range of colours. It’s certainly advisable to swatch before creating a painting as the colours can come as a bit of a surprise on the paper! Very bright but easy to blend to bring the colours down to a more subtle level if you want to. I had no problem using the discs of paint although a couple of the colours needed a second brush over to get the true depth of colour which really wasn’t a problem. In short, these paints are great fun for children because they can share the levels between them and great fun for adults because they are a very inexpensive way of passing away a little creative time. Highly recommended!

I bought this item because I like to try new things and of course it’s a great set to take away on holidays or on walks. The range of colours aren’t bad at all for students and experienced artist, and I am sure children would love them too. I think it’s worth buying. You can see the size in my photos.

These get tight very easily and difficult to detach. They should come with more than one lid to minimise this issue and also more room for mixing. I didn't like how the colours are placed. One tray with warm and cool primary colours would make this easier to travel with, that way you wouldn't need to carry them all. I found them to be powdery as well and nowhere near as pigmented as the Anilinky by the same brand. Much better.

Expensive for the quality. But it’s a compact set with multiple colours. Handy to stack and carry.

Gute Farbauswahl, aber sehr flache Farbnäpfchen. Ich war schon etwas überrascht, wie klein dieses Farbrondell ist, immerhin sind es mehrere Etagen. Die Farbnäpfchen selbst sind dadurch natürlich besinders Flach, also ist dieser Farbkasten eher nicht für große Plakatprojekte geeignet. Die Farbzusammenstellung je Scheibe ist scheinbar etwas willkürlich. Ich nehme aber an, das kommt daher dass dieser Koh-I-Noor-Farbkasten in verschiedenen Ausführungen zu haben ist. (4er, 6er, 8er usw. und sich die Zusammenstellung so erleichtert) Ich habe mir eine Farbkarte angeertigt, denn die Farben wirken auf dem Papier anders. Aquarellfarben sind es eher nicht, Wasserfarben mit verschieden starker Pigmentierung trifft es eher.
