Purchased it last year but never wrote a view. I saw there were only 7 reviews for this product so I wanted to add my experience.I purchased with Amazon as the seller, which I almost exclusively do, because I trust them more than other third parties.The product came complete, no missing parts, assembly instructions were clear - easy to follow and accurate. During assembly my son helped, but it really was more on me as there was some delicate assembly. However, it proved to be a great father-son building experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.We had a few delays in assembly.First, we reversed a few wires (I can't remember which now) which caused a problem later. It was no big deal, we just disassembled and put it back together. This was actually not a bad experience because it only caused us to be even more familiar with the assembly and build.Second, one of the speaker leads snapped off during install. This WAS a problem because I didn't have a soldering iron available. Though, within a day, I had sourced an iron and fixed it no problem. So, just be ready to solder a wire if you snap one of the existing solder joints.In the end, the robot performs perfectly. You can clap, whistle (loud), or even yell at it and it will pick up your sound and follow you. My son was SO proud and happy with it and still uses it today.

I bought this as a project to work on with my granddaughter. A great project that resulted in a robot she was happy with. I would give this five stars, but a 10 year-old would be unlikely to assemble this alone, as advertised.

We bought this for our 12 year old who has always wanted his own robot. The advertisement said it was easy assembly and listed the age as 10 and up, but it took both my husband, my son, and me on the head to get it together, and then we had to take the head apart and reconnect a few wires that didn't' work the first time. Once assembled it's very cute and moves around a hard floor easily. Ours seems to only respond to clapping and it doesn't move but maybe six inches before you have to clap again to get it to go further. It does make some cute little robot sounds. My 10 year old daughter has actually enjoyed playing with it more than our 12 year old, so the age range was right on that but there's no way she could have assembled it on her own.

Too much hassle to assemble it.One has to clap really hard to make robot move. Kids can not make it move only adults can. I need to buy auto clapper so that kid can play with robot.

Ordered this for my 4 yr. old granddaughter. When it arrived I was surprised how much assy. was required, but even more disappointing was the statement in the assembly directions that the robot would only respond to claps within a 1 meter (little over 3 ft) range. Made it much less interesting to me. I'm sure she would not have been impressed. I anticipated that it would work from across the room.

Great educational toy. It takes concentration to assemble. My son at 12 was able to do it.Once completed it will follow a sound. We clapped our hands and the robot would turn it that direction and follow. Very cute. You younger children liked playing with the robot a lot too.

Great small projects for kids 10+. No soldering needed and includes everything minus the batteries to operate it. Did this with my niece and was easy to follow directions and easy setup.Thought I had an issue and I contacted their support through email, I received a email back a few days to help address my issue which by then I had already resolved because I have unplugged the wires in the base on accident. Would recommend for class projects or something to intrigue a child's mind.
