Ok if you are good at languages.

This is a great little phrase book. Small and light, easy to use and great value. It even helped me in a pharmacy to buy the right meds for a dodgy tum.

Perfect little phrase book. Has the essentials plus a nice small size to fit in your bag.

I didn't realised when I bought it that it was this small. I have a lot of lonely planet book, but they are a lot bigger! I don't regret buying it, all the essentiel to travel to Japan is there, even a small dictionary. If you want to know how to order food, how to go somewhere in Japanese, it's perfect for that ! Small, compact and light. But if you want to learn, don't buy this one, look for another Lonely Planet book!

I'm a huge fan of Lonely Planet's shorter Phrasebook editions like this, since when you're traveling it's not too helpful to carry around a large book. This book had all the phrases you could need, including short quips that make you sound like a local.

Good size for sticking in your pocket... was useful for a last minute purchase when we went to Tokyo.

The print is tiny. I wear readers and still struggle to read it. Seems like it will be useful for my needs.
