A weaker brew
The product is built solidly, fits perfectly in a wide-mouth 64oz mason jar (Ball in my case), and seals leak-proof with the included gasket. I used the gasket that fits around the rim of the filter along with a plastic lid. For a metal lid with the seal built in, I'd use the collar gasket that sets under the filter's rim.The filter holds about 1-1/2 cups of grounds, if filled to the top. Filtration is decent, but because I grind beans by hand, there will always be some sediment. Clean-up is easy, just pull the filter out and the grounds come out with a tap. A rinse and it's ready for another batch. The stainless steel filter on its own earns a five star rating. Having said that, the filter-in-a-mason-jar makes a weaker brew than I'm accustomed to. Without the filter, I would typically use 1:8 coffee-to-water ratio (by weight), and after brewing, mix equal parts with water/ice. Whitelf's recommended 1:6 ratio produced a result that was decent if I drank it straight. The difference might be that the filter prevents agitating the mixture, so getting good saturation is difficult. Needs further experimentation.

Pretty convenient cold brew filter
Bought a pair of 64oz mason jars just for this. Comes with 2 grommets and 1 fit perfectly. Able to close the lid securely, great!Initial impression is that there was more sediment in the resulting cold brew than I expected. Not a crazy amount and it’s super fine but.. I had adjusted my coarseness up quite a bit from my usual pour over grind setting, so wasn’t expecting that. Will increase my coarseness even more for the next batch! I’m using a King Grinder K6, will update if I find a happy medium.Resulting cold brew was flavorful and pleasant to drink and not too strong. I used Sir Owlverick’s “Saigon Nights” beans, which are great for Vietnamese-style coffee.Need to make more brews but I see the potential here.Cleaning was ok but you’ll need a round scrubbing brush slim enough to fit inside to clean properly.Overall I like it and glad I’ve got it. Asking price is very fair.

Sturdy and Effective Cold Brew Strainer for 64-Ounce Mason Jars
I just received this stainless steel mesh cold brew strainer for my 64-ounce mason jar, and so far, I’m really impressed. The package came with two gaskets: one for the underside of the rim that connects the jar opening and the strainer, and another for the lid. The rim gasket fits perfectly, ensuring a tight seal that doesn’t come loose even when the jar is tilted. The extra gasket for the lid is also included, though it feels a bit extra for my needs—but it's nice to have. The fine mesh works wonderfully, preventing even the smallest tea particles from slipping through. My first batch of cold brew came out smooth and clear, with no sediment at all.Overall, this strainer feels sturdy and well-built. It seems like it will hold up well over time, and I’m looking forward to using it regularly. It’s a great addition for anyone who enjoys making cold brew at home.

No Lid Provided
I normally don't misunderstand what comes with a listed product - I just don't. In this case, though, there are literally pictures of a pour-spout lid on a mason jar with this filter inside it, one of it being turned upside down demonstrating that it's not leaking. Why would I care if a product I'm not going to receive leaks or not? Having just the filter makes this much less useful to me - I have nylon mesh bags and other cold brew kits already. Not looking to drink 64 oz jars of cold brew moonshine style or with a straw lid, folks.

Well when you have this the hardest part is finding a great coffee grind.
This is super well made the metal part is strong. It isnt going to bend or break. It came with two different style of rubber grommets. I am not even sure you need this unless you tip it. Made 3 batches of iced coffee. Started working almost immediately and came out great even faster than overnight. The iced coffee was so strong when I pulled this metal filter out I refilled the 2 QT glass jug with water, and it came out the perfect strength (maybe even a little too strong) Great value. Not cheaply made. I liked this. This was my first foray into making my own iced coffee. It was surprising how much coffee it took to make two quarts. However, a great experience and this kit was all I needed to take some coarse coffee grinds and make a nice batch of iced coffee.

Good filter, but shop around for better pricing
This mesh filter performs acceptably. Depending on the coarseness of your coffee grounds, it can keep the vast majority of particles from accumulating at the bottom of your jar, which can absolutely ruin the drinking experience. The filter is not constructed extraordinarily better than all others, it's par for the course. We already tested a 64 ounce kit produced by a competing brand. It was a little bit of a letdown to know for a few dollars more, we got an entire cold brewing kit: 64 ounce jar, handled lid, filter, cleaning brush, and measuring scoop. However, there is some benefit to having lesser capacity filtration, as we're constantly experimenting with different blends, roasts, and concentrations. I appreciate the inclusion the two different types of silicone gaskets because not all lid gaskets are created equal. I would recommend this filter if significantly discounted. Shop around.

Great Tea Infuser
I only use this for tea (I don't drink coffee) and this does a great job. Only the tiniest little dust particles of tea make it through. Fits easily onto a standard mason jar. I infuse my tea for several hours, often overnight, and remove the basket with tea leaves once I'm done. It's easy to clean as leaves do not get stuck in the mesh.
