Govee Star Light Projector with 3 Aurora Flowing Effects

This is so cool. We have all our lamps controlled by Govee and it is so nice to be able to control them all on our phones. This projector is so fun to sit and look at. It has so many different options and who’ll even play sounds.

We’ve had this Govee Star Light Projector in my kids’ room for over a year now, and it’s been fantastic. The colors are bright and relaxing, and my kids love picking their favorite combinations every night before bed. It’s held up really well with daily use and still works like new. The Matter integration makes it easy to control from the app, which is super convenient. It’s one of those small things that makes bedtime fun. The projector had great features it was too loud for me without white noise, I'm going to order a smaller version from the same company. I also didn't like that the timer didn't turn off after changing it in the app, it kept waking me up too early. Otherwise the noise options were great, the colors were beautiful. I loved the fact that I could customize my own colors, I will make sure that comes with the smaller projector. Thanks!

I looked at the reviews of several of these lights. I was convinced to buy this one when it went on sale, because it had some features others didn’t, like adjustable star lights and a tilting mount to allow for directing the lights where you want. The light pattern is beautiful and mesmerizing. I have it near my bed aimed at the ceiling. It’s nice for winding down. For those who read reviews closely, I wanted to chime in on drawbacks that others said. 1) It seems silly to say that the light pattern moves too quickly or that the light isn’t bright enough, because downloading the app allows you to change the relative brightness and speed of movement for both the stars and the aurora individually as well as the overall brightness. When I first turned it on, I thought the movement and light level were perfect, but that’s a matter of taste. 2) The “loud” whirring sound is really not that loud. You would have to prefer absolute silence (which is usually impossible to achieve) for this to be loud. It’s noticeable, but seemed very light compared to what some of the reviews suggested. Some drawbacks: 1) it’s original price of about $80 seemed too much to me, especially since it didn’t have its own power block. But for the quality and variety of options, the sale price of $55 is worth it to me. And I happened to have a pack of USB power blocks I already bought that worked great. 2) If you’re interested in the white noise selection, personally I only like one of them. Some of this is taste. I don’t prefer bird sounds as white noise or wind chimes. But the kinds I do usually like (wind, water) were not good sound quality. The one titled “drizzle” is the only one I’d probably use and maybe one of the soothing music sounds. 3) It would be nice if the stars covered more of the overall pattern and weren’t so compact. However, I do really like that the stars move, and the app control is really easy and a nice feature, especially since I plan to use this as I am laying in bed before sleep. It basically makes your phone a remote control. Overall, I’m really happy with this, and I even was thinking of people I wanted to give this to, so long as the sale continues.

I purchased this product for a Christmas present for my son, but my partner wanted it more. We didn't actually open it and set it up until a month after the holiday. The Aurora lights are AMAZING, with stars and accompanying sounds. We did have a small issue with a few of the light settings, that had a notable glitch and would flash at high speed. We contacted Govee and they responded immediately with instructions on how to reset to the factory defaults. Unfortunately, that did not fix our problem, so we reached back out to the company, who again, responded almost instantly with some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. They immediately sent us a replacement, which is working perfectly! My partner LOVES this projector and falls asleep to it every night. The colors are beautiful, the movement of the lights is really soothing and it has been a really lovely addition to our bedtime routine. I highly recommend this product, not just for the wonderfulness of the product, but also for the absolutely stellar and fantastic customer service! You will not regret this purchase ~ it is all that is says and more...including a wonderful company backing up their fabulous products!

I bought this as a night light for my kid and it's been a hit! Beautiful colors and fun motions to help the kiddo fall asleep. I also love that I am able to turn off the stars since that is a laser and didn't want that on in the kids room. Now I'm not the biggest fan of this device though for two main reasons. The first is the color chooser doesn't seem to do a ton depending on color type. What I mean is I have chosen reds and oranges but somehow there is still a sliver of green and light blue that sneak in. It's not the end of the world but I'm trying to stay away from "blue light" sources and this isn't helping. The second and most annoying to me personally is the matter support. You have to set it up right when you first turn it on otherwise it will not work with matter... after I reset it I was then able to set up matter but then my network did an update and rebooted and the Govee star light would not reconnect to my matter network thus making my Homekit automations broken... I don't want to reset it again losing my scenes just to get it to work with matter again. Kid loves it though so I deal with it.

This is one of our new favorite things! We recently started using a different galaxy light in our son's room and decided to purchase this one for our play space/living area downstairs. This has a lot of coverage and the lights are so bright! Lots of different ways to customize the lights and stars in the app. This is so fun for a play room or just dopamine vibes in any room. My kids have wanted it on every night to play before bed time. Sometimes it does glitch when you switch between different light scenes and some of the preset scene modes won't work for us, but other than that, we love it! We're even considering buying another one for a different living room in our house. We were able to purchase this on sale around the holidays and I'm not sure we'd justify purchasing it at full price, but worth it if you see it on sale!

Honestly works fantastic, colors are bright and easy to see, the animations are smooth and flow like water. It is incredibly relaxing. I didn't care about the sound feature at all, the sound quality is about what you'd expect from a small cheap speaker embedded in the plastic shell. Does it work? Yes. Is the sound clear? Mmm yeah, but it still sounds like a cheap crappy speaker. Simple solution, get your sound out of a real speaker, this isn't a sound device. Apparently people got bad models or have very sensitive hearing in regard to the motors, Govee even sent me a email right after it was delivered explaining how they measured the sound etc. I cannot hear it, the thing is dead silent. Maybe I got a revised version, but I can't hear anything from it even if I try. Govee app has all the features and options you would expect from their products and you can do all sorts of customizing and scene creation in the app. Overall, if you are looking for the light function, espically if you already have Govee products, this is a great product.

We've had Govee lighting for a while now, including their outdoor lights, so I felt confident trying this projector for our kids' room. I wanted something that would create a calm, relaxing atmosphere at bedtime, and it exceeded my expectations. The colours are vibrant, it's much brighter than I expected, and there are lots of different lighting effects to choose from. My kids love changing the colours, and the music feature is a fun bonus. Once the lights are off, the projector looks absolutely beautiful. Like most projectors, it performs best in a darker room. If there's a lot of light coming in, the effect isn't quite as strong, but I think that's pretty typical and wasn't an issue for me. Overall, this has been a really fun addition to their room. My kids ask me to turn it on every night before bed, and I'd definitely buy it again.

This light projector is really nice, although I would've wanted the stars to be blue instead of green, but it’s a really nice product overall and definitely the best in the market right now. Too overpriced though

This product is really, really, really good at its job of projecting multicoloured, stunning, and vivid auroras. The stars it projects I don’t use as they are green but they do seem to move around nicely if that’s your thing. As for the noise (or lack thereof). They sent me an email saying that people complained of it but that is only really noticeable when the stars are on. I don’t use the stars so don’t experience the noise. There is plenty of customisation including make your own own auroras. Let me emphasis how beautiful the projection of the Aurora is. Smooth, flowing, vivid, varied. You could just stare at it for hours. As I have. You’ll most likely need a place like a bookshelf to place it as the Aurora projects best next to the ceiling. There’s not much more to say really. Serves its purpose perfectly. Worth the splurge.

This is my favourite smart light in my home right now. We have a vast Govee collection and this light is spectacular. It does have a motor noise, but you can adjust the light settings to reduce it. The light stays on for 4 hours and you can set timers with it in the Govee app which works flawlessly. It's such a pretty light with so many star dots that even the cats love looking at it. Highly recommend.
