Red Dingo Classic Dog Harness Plain, Black, Small 15mm

I initially got the small in this harness, but when it arrived the strapping was 15mm wide which I didn't like. I think the straps should be 20mm wide for anything but a tiny dog, so although I was sure that the initial one would have fitted my dog (schnoodle: 9.5kg), I thought the 15mm straps were out of proportion to his body; too narrow as I said, and also the lead I use is 20mm wide so there is that too. I would have had to pay return postage to send the first harness back, but after arguing my case with Amazon customer service I was able to return it for free which was good of them, so because of that I was happy to reorder the medium. So, after careful adjustment of the second harness with 20mm wide straps it fits BoBo perfectly and looks correct and in proportion. He is a very standard miniature poodle cross miniature schnauzer, so I would advise the medium for anything along those lines; for anyone not in the know, miniature poodles and schnauzers are not really all that miniature; bit of a misnomer because of the various sizes of poodles and schnauzers. Anyway, I was thinking when I first saw this harness whether it was a good idea that it has two buckle bones instead of one, but in actual fact it gives it a nice symmetry and stops it slipping to one side I think, well it tends to stay more central than my previous one, and of course you only need to open one buckle bone to slip it on your dog. The adjustment on the front chest and belly makes sure you have a perfect fit and I just kept adjusting it here and there till I was happy with how it sat on my dog. I would take a picture of it on BoBo but he's asleep now and I just want to get this review done, because I know from experience how much money you can waste getting the wrong thing for your dog so I really wanted to review it while I had the time. So I would recommend this harness, dog seems happy, I'm happy, I would buy again if needs be.

I have 7 of these harnesses and wouldn’t use another make. They look really good and there is a large selection of colours. They can be tightened and loosened quite easily and there are no rough or hard parts on the harness so are very comfortable. I’ve found them to be escape proof and they are also very reasonably priced.

Very good strong good fit don't slip as much as other makes

Great wee harness for my cavapoo. I specifically bought a harness without padding and fabric as I have found that this causes matting in my dog's fur. My dog always seems happy to put the harness on and it works well for what it is meant for. I use a collar for walking so this harness is purely for the training lead, when she was still learning, and also for being secured in the car. I have bought a few in different colours, love that there are some gorgeous bright ones available. Recommend.

Got the turquoise which is a gorgeous colour. Otherwise not really happy, it’s the design not the item but if the dog is walking beside you, the harness twists round to the side and you don’t have as much control. Also if it gets wet the harness stretches so you have a baggy loop hanging down, which the dog can easily get a leg through and then it’s likely to trip.

Very difficult to get on and off as requires to get over head and then tighten up. Should have been designed with two clips that can be undone to fit and take off rather than just one.Lovely colour though in turquoise.

The harness overall is really good quality, however the major downfall with it (I bought two of these) is that when your dog is wearing them and they get wet - walking through long grass etc. the colour comes out of the harness. You may not notice this on a dark coloured dog but on a West Highland Terrier (White) they look as though they have had a blue rinse at the hairdressers - not a good look!!! Unfortunately this does not wash out with dog shampoo either, we have had to revert to an old harness because of this. So beware on white / light coloured dogs.

MEDIUM SIZE HARNESS PURCHASED: Great looking harness, but I think the sizing of these is very small, as I actually purchased this in the medium size for the larger of my two Jack Russells - he is a longer legged Parson Russell type, and although the tummy and chest straps fitted ok, the top strap seemed very short, and so it was too far forward on him, and made the chest and tummy straps look awkward and out of shape.Luckily, it fits my other dog (miniature Jack Russell ) perfectly so I kept it!It's a lovely shade of brown, and made of decent quality webbing which is much softer / more comfortable than any other harnesses I have seen.It looks really smart.I would definitely recommend.UPDATE...2023 now and the harness is still going strong and looking good!
