Excellent cordless polisher – powerful and convenient
I bought this polisher for car detailing and I’m really impressed with its performance. It’s lightweight, comfortable to use, and the ergonomic design makes it easy to work for long periods without fatigue. The 21V battery lasts a good amount of time, and the battery level indicator is very handy so you don’t run out of power unexpectedly. I like that it has 8 adjustable speeds (from 2800 to 6000 RPM), making it versatile for polishing, waxing, and buffing. Being cordless means I can move around freely without dealing with tangled cords. The motor is powerful and stable, with minimal vibration, delivering a smooth and even finish. The upgraded eccentric shaft design also helps achieve a professional result.

All the right stuff, except...
All the right stuff! 2X 4ah batteries, digital readout, bonnet and sponges to last months. Great power and eganomics plus a bag to keep it all on. The only reason I returned it was my finger kept hitting the power button. I read several reviews with the same complaint before purchasing. I thought the they were just whiners and I would be fine. When you look at the specs and the price it's a no brainer. I was wrong. It is frustrating and time consuming. After spending a Saturday after continually having to turn the unit back on after mistakingly turning it off every few minutes I had enough. Each battery is enough to wax an entire vehicle. Good build quality and quiet motor. The secondary handle does get hot after a while and you have to set it down to cool.

Should be discontinued
I bought one of these and the power button didn't work, so I reordered it, hoping it was a fluke. Same thing with the second one. After several minutes I finally got it turned on but both times, it was impossible to turn off and I had to remove the battery, which, btw, fits as though it doesn't belong to the device. On both, it slid in with difficulty and was nearly impossible to remove. I did a video search to see if I was missing something, but the video i saw had a slightly different power button, which makes me think this is a defective previous generation and thus, why they are reducing the price with a coupon. Coupon or not, I'm returning them both as they are simply inoperable. What a shame. I had high hopes and now I'm back to square one, finding a different buffer

Promising polisher cursed by a maniacal switch
I sure wanted to like this polisher. It's my first cordless DA polisher. I also have a forced rotation DA polisher and a corded DA polisher. I'm a detailing enthusiast. I have very mixed opinions of this Protmex polisher. VERY mixed. You can see in the ad what all comes with the polisher. I received everything listed in the ad. I am providing some detailed info below but to summarize: PROS: Cordless! Comfortable design for holding Backing plate performed well -- no wobbling Good vibration control Batteries performed well Good balance to the unit Overall enjoyed using it to apply wax to two vehicles Some pads provided for getting started Does not stall readily 8 speeds Easy to change backing plates CONS: Horrible switch. Horrible. Really horrible. What a shame. Will be a deal breaker for some. Substandard, careless manufacturing Cheap battery charger Cheap bag Careless cramming of the pads into the box Very difficult to install and remove the battery. Seriously. Durability remains to be seen but I'm not optimistic Now for some details. I applied the 3D Proxy wax product to two cars, using this polisher exclusively. I installed a Grant's finishing pad, NOT one of the pads that came with the Protmex package. I wasn't willing to take a chance with the supplied pads on these cars. Overall, with notable exceptions, it was a favorable experience: I had no battery issues at all. After two cars, I still had 3 bars left on the power gauge. Both batteries charged to full without incident. However, the charger is a small, cheap wall plug in. There is no charging cradle. The vibration level was comfortable and it didn't stall readily. Speaking of batteries, as others have commented, it is ridiculously difficult to install and remove the battery. What the heck? I improved the situation by applying a little Super Lube grease on the polisher, in the groove where the battery slides in. That helped, but c'mon, Protmex can't get that right? The backing plate performed properly and there was no significant wobble. I ran through all 8 speeds for a bit and all went well there too. Nice to have 8 speeds, I suppose. I used speed 3 the most often while applying wax. As for power, it was more than enough for applying wax as the final step of a color correction project. It wasn't even working up a sweat. I am anxious to push it harder, doing some compounding and polishing. Then there's the switch. Oh, the switch. The thing is inexplicably bizarre. It's very touch sensitive and it's placed right where you would place your hand. You will turn it on when you don't intend to, turn it off when you don't intend to, change speeds when you don't intend to. Only the most disciplined user will fail to launch into profanity, and some will not be able to maintain their sanity. If you're going to keep this polisher, you'll require a reprogramming in your brain to cope with this switch. Manufacturing quality and quality control is questionable also. The top of the spindle is a nut-shaped bearing. This is where you screw in the backing plate. They are usually a polished, smooth metal. This polisher's was gouged and rust had already started in the grooves of the gouge. In the shroud, where the two halves are screwed together, one of the screws was jammed in so tightly that it warped and stressed the plastic screw anchor. Not exactly a confidence booster. The supplied bag is very cheap and upon opening for the first time, I found the stitching on the zipper had a lot of extra thread hanging in a ball, to which the velcro side of the backing plate firmly attached itself. Trying to separate the two nearly destroyed the bag. The bag will be trashed, it's that bad. The pads were jammed and crammed into the box, creating deep crimps in several of the pads. I did try one of the pads on a non-critical section of a car, and it performed ok, but I was not pushing it much. I also replaced the supplied 6" backing plate with a 5" plate and it also performed as it should. I even installed a 3" backing plate to polish some piano black B pillars and that went well. Something to keep in mind: the batteries are proprietary. If they fail, there's no replacement available. You're screwed. There are other units available on Amazon that also accept name brand batteries. So there you are. You love to hate the thing, and you hate to love it.

Multi-functional and worth it
What a way to get the sanding Ang bugging done with ease. Used to complete my Venetian plaster wall. Cut down sanding and buffing time. Live dual batteries

My ONLY complaint is batteries take to long to charge
My ONLY complaint is batteries take a long time to charge and don't last long enough.... But it does an excellent job at finish work after cut-n-buff of paint before delivery. We coat our jobs with a special polymer developed just for us by a major chem company and this thing makes application and buff out simple and quick. Would love to get two more batteries and a better charging system -- the wall wort just isn't cutting it.... Still going to recommend Buy It -- Two Thumbs Up -- Getcha One!!
