I have had lower back problems recently so I decided to try this out before I travel over 36hrs... It's amazing I've used it and I'm addicted to it, now if I sit without it I feel weird . . . Although not many reviews but believe me you'll fall in love with it. Give it a try it won't disappoint

First of all, there're many bad reviews about gel cushions, and that's because the persons' weights exceeded the limit of the gel capability to give (compress), so the cushions bottomed out and gave users such a bad impression. I felt that the limit should be around 160 lbs max for the 1.5" common honey comb design cushions to stay reasonably comfortable. Once you exceeded this limit, it may or may not feel comfortable to you depending on your situations. Thinner cushions support less weight, and thicker cushions support more weight. That's why you saw the opposite and conflicted reviews on the same products from different people. If users are heavier than this weight limits, then they should consider a different product for the proper support and relieves needed. Also, the better designs of the cushions also adds to the increasing of this max limits, though still limited to about 20-30 lb increased max, probably. The standard honey comb design is fine, and the enhanced honey comb designs like the different shapes and smaller cells with more angular corners added to the basic design help increase this max limits. This cushion was an enhanced design (blue color), and it was better than other non-enhanced models of the same thickness. There were 2 "round sitting spots" with thicken wall cells on this cushion, but I felt like the cushion was giving somewhat under my weight, but it hold up well nevertheless. A newer version of this made by the same manufacturer with the improved "enhanced round spots" with added crossed-bar bracing for the big honey comb cells (green color) actually felt more "leveled" when I sat on the newer cushion, without the any impression of any sinking feeling at all across the entire cushion surface. This made the new cushion felt "dead flat and leveled" under my weight. But then, the new design is a little thinner, about 1.4" vs. 1.6", therefore, their performance differences were not as big as my impression since the 1.6" cushion will be sinking a little more by default because of the height, giving the impression of a softer cushion through the sinking. Note that the green cushions came in 2 versions: One version was identical to the blue version which was the older design; and the other was the new and improved version. I am 133 lbs and this cushion feels like it can still be good for up to 160 lbs with this design. If a person wants to experiment with gel cushion, then an alternative is to add a yoga pad (1" to 3" thick) between this cushion and the seat. This yoga pad is not the normal foam pad, but is made from a material similar to rubber though not quite, doesn't give much but still giving to the weight, spring back faster than memory foam, and can't be compressed easily to the maximum level. Adding this helps the users from feeling the seat when the cushion bottomed out, thus adding additional support to the cushion like a thicker cushion does. And even with people who fit under the max weight limit of the cushion, this yoga pad will bring additional comfort to the body, especially on long sitting sessions. I added a haft-depth yoga pad to my wheelchair to raise the sitting position to a "flat" level, rather the default "tilted" level with the knees raised higher than the thighs by the wheelchair positional default. This helps release the ab compressions, which affected intestine, colon, bladder, etc., and helps with the neck tensions from sitting with the head hang forward and crooked. The breathing of the cover also makes it feel refresh after sitting for a long time.

For my office chair. I didn't want something to high and I've used the other memory foam seat cushions and my lower back would hurt. This is exactly what I wanted, not too soft but offers cushion, comfort and stays in place.
