The Nokia Streaming Box 8000 is super easy to set up, as is the excellent included dual Bluetooth/IR backlit Google Voice Remote Control. I have an amazon 4K Fire Stick and a 4K Zidoo Android Media Box, and the Nokia is much better than both! The Nokia Streaming Box 8000 is faster and much more responsive, with an excellent 4K picture and audio on all apps. What is not so hot is the 100mbps LAN, but the WiFi is super fast. There is only one USB-A 3 port for media (which can also used a to add dedicated memory), and a USB-C port which can only be used for charging devices, or for adding the optional Satellite or Terrestrial TV Adapters. Tip: use the included Nokia HDMI cable, otherwise you might experience stuttering and crashes as I did when plugged into the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box. All was resolved when I connected both with the Nokia HDMI cable, and now sync beautifully! Chromecast is built in! And there is a digital remote for smartphone or tablet. So far, I am delighted with with the Nokia Streaming Box 8000, and at the current price of £51.51 (originally £120) it is an absolute bargain!

Great remote that lights up, but is well built and weighted. Strangely it doesn't have a mouse switch, instead I connected a bluetooth mouse which worked a treat, when required. Box itself is quality and I found it to be quick and smooth. It updated immediately, both firmwares to box and remote. The hardware is limited to only one usb 3 port and has no sd card slot but I used a SD card to USB adapter and the SD card reformatted to shared storage. Every thing but BBC iplayer, 4 player, ITVX and Virgin TV Go seemed to be available but I installed the mobile versions of these using Downloader and these work perfectly well but BBC iplayer and Virgin need the mouse. Obviously if you have those apps on your phone the chromecast feature is amazingly good. I recommend the HERE browser I came across with my TCL TV it works brilliantly on this box especially with the mouse but not essential. Highly recommended, best box I have bought so far.

Nokia 8000: Google Certified The price point of the device is comparable to the Fire stick 4k max 2gen. The Nokia 8000 leaves you with 4.5 gig on first boot. Additional storage can be added easily 32 gig sandisk USB tested would be enough as an addition to external storage. Sandisk Storage: manufactured by Western Digital. Out of the box you have all you need and the 8000 boots at Android 10. It will then up date to Android 12. The stock os is Google TV. It achieves Developer so side loading is not an issue. It achieves ADB and mouse toggle. It would achieve Launcher for the personal touch. Tduk Cache Cleaner and app Killer achieved. BBC iPlayer however is not in its app store is not shown but can be achieved with version 0.4.7-dev. I can advise who has this. One of the cons is channel 4 or all 4 is not available and cannot be achieved as the application was only developed from channel 4 for Amazon devices and mobile. Device orientation app was tested with mobile version but failed to adjust launch orientation and show on the application tile screen. The remote is featured and had has good function. The 8000 almost achieves shield likeness but does not have the ports. You would need to go for the Nokia 8010 as the ports and onboard storage increases. Es tan bueno, que lo voy a comentar. Modelo 8010, 119€. 1) El mando funciona excepcionalmente, lo usamos desde el salón y el aparato receptor está en otra habitación (la señal atraviesa las paredes sin problemas). He leído sobre problemas con el mando, en mi caso 0 problemas. Se siente de una construcción excelente. Lo he podido configurar para que haga las funciones con una etapa de potencia 5.2 DENON (en vez de con la TV), reconoció el aparato y la marca sin problemas. 2) Calidad de imagen excelente una vez le desactivado el HDR. Soy experto en audiovisuales, quitar el HDR porque estropea muchas películas. He leído de gente que dice que la imagen se bloquea y demás, yo sin problemas, todo correcto y fluido (tanto con la TV como con el proyector, calidad de imagen probada a 110 pulgadas de proyección dispsrando a 1080p). 3) Sonido 5.2 con un DENON sin problemas (he leído de gente que se quejaba de que no sacaba el 5.1 precisamente con marcas como DENON). Importante de saber, no todas las películas en las plataformas están en 5.1 y hay plataformas que directamente no trabajan el 5.1. Por ejemplo, en Disney hay cosas que están en 5.1 y otras en estéreo (se cambia automáticamente solo según la película, no hace falta tocar nada). 4) Compramos este aparato para el proyector ya que los aparatos de Amazon y de Google tienen aplicaciones capadas como HBO (y, al margen de lo inmoral de la competencia desleal, yo quiero elegir que plataformas ver sin censura o restricciones). Si quieres poder ver todas las plataformas con la calidad excelente, este es tu aparato. Además se le pueden conectar USB para ver tus películas con la app VLC (mirar en Google Play Store), que reproduce de todo (incluido MKV) con 5.2 también. 5) No, un PC conectado no es lo mismo con las aplicaciones ya que tanto los navegadores como las aplicaciones NO FUNCIONAN A 1080p y mucho menos a 4K, si no a 720p (si, yo tampoco lo entiendo, pero es así). Es decir, este aparato ofrece una calidad muy superior a la de tu ordenador enchufado por HDMI, por no decir que es más cómodo que tener el ordenador encendido, etc. 6) No he notado que el aparato se conecte en exceso. 7) No he probado la conexión por wifi, si no por cable con internet de 1G. A mí me va perfecto (evidentemente), no sé cómo será por wifi pero puedo deducir que será buena dada la calidad del producto. 8) Al principio me pareció caro (antes de tenerlo en las manos), pero después de ver las calidades y cómo funciona, estoy contento. 9) Aplicaciones instaladas: - NETFLIX - prime video - Disney+ - Movistar+ - HBOmax - FILMIN - FlixOlé - AppleTV - PlutoTV - RTVE play -atresplayer - OrangeTV - skySHOWtime - VLC - JustWatch - YouTube - YouTube Kids - STEAMlinkp - Google Play Store - etc, etc, etc. (Todo instalado desde la Play Store, sin tener que hacer historias de nada.
