Works better than expected
Wasn't sure how this was going to work, but I think it is priced well.I am happy to report back and say it works better than I expected. When applying the pump onto the aperture of the bag it needs a little moving around to get the right spot. But when you've got the right position, it takes seconds to evacuated the bag and get a vacuum seal. What I was looking for was leakage of the bag. But 2 weeks later, none of the bags have leaked. So it turns out this was good purchase. I have LOTS of filament rolls! But after drying, I'm left hoping the little gel packs will do their job. Now they have gel packs and vacuum packing. Also, it remains possible to see which filament is which after sealing.I'm a happy customer. I just need a load more bags now!

Not the best
Awkward to get a seal so takes some time to get use to it

Great suction
Compact and plenty of suction to remove all air from bags.

It sucks
The first time I used this product to seal my filaments and it really sucked.

The included pump is not sufficiently powerful to break the initial seal
I have quite a few spools of 3D filament, and vacuum bags are easily the most cost-effective way to keep them dry. I previously had a set with a manual pump, but thatâs no longer on offer, so I thought Iâd give this a try.First off, there are no proper instructions, and whatâs included refers to clothesâ bags, manifestly only being interested in the pump and no other part of the kit. The bags are an afterthought with a membrane valve in one corner, which looks as though you should peel it off (donât). Putting a spool in the bag and then trying to evacuate the bag achieved absolutely nothing, regardless of whether pressure was put on the valve to try to keep the seal with the pump airtight (and which also made me worry that no air could reach the valve, as it necessitated pressing the bag flat). I then retrieved the manual pump and tried that. After some serious vacuum was applied, there was a âpopâ from the valve, and after that it was possible to use the USB pump normally (it was actually pretty efficient). If I had not had a manual pump to apply a strong vacuum, this product would have had to have been consigned to the bin. As a standalone product, therefore, it should not be purchased. After breaking the seal, the product works fine, but because the valve is a membrane valve, it cannot be done with anything other than a vacuum (I even tried blowing â hard â from the reverse side, to no avail).
