I really like this book. The advice on mixing realistic colors and the order in which to apply different tones is great. Painting is a new medium for me. The projects offered are quality and the artist is talented.However, for the cost of the book I would like to have had more painting projects. The drawing section was not of interest to me. I would still buy again. The horses are much more realistic than any other painting book I have come across.over all good purchase :)

This is the most informative,well thought out book,very easy to use & understand,it is self explanatory,and it cover's 3 different medium's,how much better can you get than that? I really hope to find more that are as well thought out. As a horse lover & owner my self i find this book to be a very good addition to all my other art books & supply's as an artist very helpful, Thank You Amazon,and the cost was what made it even better. This book was used, but it is in very good condition. I don’t think it is as good an instructional tool as reviews I read before buying indicated. I would not recommend it.

I am an animal portrait artist and specialize in horses. Was curious what this book covered and found the information specific enough to guide beginners through the basic process of "seeing" and to help the intermediate artist toward gaining enough understanding of horse anatomy in detail that they might even get hooked. I am always curious about other painters' techniques and continue to learn from them - as we all must. Good solid book.

I am learning how to draw and this book gives me a goal to aspire to. I am not ready to start these projects yet but am looking forward to the day when I can attempt these projects.

The book is right on the top for me, as it is well put together for anyone wanting to learn how to draw and painthorses.Well worth the five star choice.

This is an excellent book. I bought it for my horsey and artistic teenage daughter's birthday and I am so pleased with it. The techniques are described very well and are easy to follow. The bit about how to create different horse colours is very interesting. It's definitely a book that will be used again and again.

It has been 57 years since I last used a pencil for sketching, oh those art classes at secondary school, how I used to love them. Not a lot has changed but a lot had been forgotten. Nice and cheapish way to get back into what I used to love as an 11yo
