I have used this pillow a couple of times now and it has been a really great addition to my hiking set up. I really like that this pillow is self inflating i currently already own a self inflating mattress so now all i have to do when i get to camp is role them both out open up the valve and they are both ready to go without having to blow them up manually. Its been nice as I am able to focus on other things at camp.This pillow is also super wide, its about the width of a smaller regular pillow which is super nice as im someone who roles around in my sleep so having the extra head room comes in handy,It also compacts quite nicely, I have had no problems getting it to fit back into its originally carrying case and it fits perfectly in my bag right along my sleeping pad.Finally it came with a patch kit which was a pleasant surprise to me, really surprised to see that at this price point.Honestly for the money it really can't be beat.

I like this pillow and even though a camper fir 50+ years never had one. This pillow is a self inflating, approximately 2" thick, nylon cased assembly that is VERY flat. The ability to add a small amount of air to increase roundness is ok but I can see the internal foam ripping away from the inside lining. The size is very good to sleep on and even better to pack as the pillow deflates, you roll it up and secure in its an storage bag. The overall stored size is 12" long x 3" round and easily fits in a pack or even your suitcase. I have mine in a pillow case designed from the same size pillow with a polyfill insert to augment the roundness desired by most sleepers. The pillow is comfortable, compact and able to travel anywhere due to size. This pillow is a welcome addition to the equipment I normally keep in my SUV for short road trips or camping. I have provided a picture of the pillow the way I use it. The best parts are the size and ability to adjust firmness.

This camping pillow combines memory foam and an inflatable aspect. It fluffs up surprisingly well by itself and then you just blow into the twist valve to top it off to your desired firmness. It retained its air and shape well over a 3-night camping trip.I feel like this pillow offers me a comfortable and supportive surface for back sleeping, although it is not high enough for me for side sleeping.It’s bigger and more comfortable than my other inflatable camping pillows and also doesn’t have that slippery surface and rustle noise that some of the inflatable-only ones do.The pillow rolls up easily into its bag for transport and includes elastic straps to hold it closed.While it's too large for backpacking, it's perfect for camping, travel, or even as a lumbar pillow on a plane. I like it enough that it’s going to be part of my standard camping kit.

The OPENROAD Self Inflating Camping Pillow is decent for what it is, but it falls short as a head pillow. While it’s large enough to use as a seat cushion and offers some comfort in that role, it isn’t thick enough to provide adequate support for laying your head on. If it were a bit thicker, it would make a much better pillow. As it stands, it’s better than nothing, but if you’re looking for a solid head pillow for camping, you might want to consider other options.

I have quite a few other pillows for camping, everything from compressible memory foam pillows up to $70 baffled ultralight pillows. So I picked this pillow up to compare it to my other non self inflating pillows. For me this one fits a very specific niche. I would say it's for those that want their spine aligned properly. I find myself constantly adjusting those other pillows over the course of a night because of how my neck feels. This one, despite being relatively thin, seems to do a great job at aligning your neck and spine to minimize the amount of pressure points lead to that stiff feeling most campers are familiar with in the morning. It's not as light or as small as a lot of other pillows that are available, but it does do a good job of minimizing the stiffness I typically feel in my neck. I do wish it did a better job of not sliding around while on an air mattress. If it had some way of attaching it to an air mattress or a material that stayed in place better this would easily be a five star review for me.

Once this pillow arrived, it took a little while for the foam to fully bounce back. This is pretty typical behavior, and you can substitute with air if you need to. Don't let this discourage you if you don't receive all the comfort you'd expect. After a little time, the foam will fill out on its own without the need for air. It's actually pretty comfortable and the concave keeps your head from sliding off.At this price, I don't see why you wouldn't pick one of these up. The only thing may be the form factor when it's being stowed. I've seen other pillows that fold down to much smaller. This is not an issue for me, but something others may overlook. Great pillow overall, and easy to recommend.

Works just like a self inflating mattress but has the texture and curves of a comfortable pillow. I’d rather it had been a bit thicker but I that would make it bulkier, so overall satisfied.
